@DanceToTheHeart Cover? This is no cover. This is an actual CAST who were castes by the original creators of the musical. In fact, some of them (not necessarily the girls on screen, some of the guys as well) were either understudies, swings, or ensemble members back in Broadway.
I didn't think they were really connected to the music. I can see why many would like the brooadway cast more but, they worked on spring awakening for years before going on broadway. This touring cast probably didn't work as long as they did. There pretty good though. Yet I've seen both cast live and I gotta say broadway killed it! There's no energy like the one on broadway it's so real and intense. You feel sucked into the story and u just don't get that in LA

I really like the revised pronunciation of "heav-en" as opposed to the recording's "heav-on". Love both versions though, the harmonies are incredible!

You've got to keep in mind that this wasn't filmed during a performance. Performers feed off of the energy of the audience. Live, any cast performing this song is utterly spellbinding.
As much as I love Christy, I am missing Lea's high F at the end. And as much as I love this cast, nothing can beat the original. But I do love this, tour cast is so great.
While I actually really hate this musical, I deeply love the energy, power, and choreography within this song. It's probably my one favorite moment within the play.

I've only seen a few performances of the broadway cast (BC) (only on a few tv performances, so it may be different when they're on stage) but it seemed to be like the BC just kind of bounced their knees a little. These girls (to me) seem a lot more aggressive and rock-star-ish. Maybe it's just me? They're all fantastic, of course.

I have to disagree with anyone who thinks the broadway cast was better. It's compairing a recording with a video of an actual performance, it's hardly fair.
I saw this cast and I felt they left the broadway cast in the dust. It was the most powerful thing I've ever seen in my life, I was so moved that it was all I could think about for weeks.
While this version is wonderful in itself. The Broadway cast were so... fluid... with their articulation. This version seems some what I dont want to say Robotic but too forced. Their consonants and some of their vowels seem to pronounced. The B-way cast had such passion and vitality when singing this, and these girls dont really have it.

this does not do the tour cast justice. I was disappointed that i couldnt see the obc but this cast was so good. This video is not the greatest but i recommend seeing them live before you judge!
What on earth? This is freaking awful. I thought this was a huge joke the first time I saw it. Disgustingly overacted, and vocals leave a TON to be desired. My high school choir could have done better than this, and that's embarrassing.

actually i think theyre about equally good. i think the perfect cast (for me, at least) would include jonathan groff, lea michele, jgj, andy mientus, ben moss, and steffi d. george, otto, thea, martha, and anna could be from either cast.
As far as people making comments on the tour, I'd just like to say that this was during the beginning of the run (obviously) so they were still new to the music. Now they have performed this number numerous times and have grown stronger to this song making this song just that much more amazing. The obc had been performing the song for awhile so their voices were used to the song already so give the tour a break. They're absolutely amazing live. (:

I think the only reason this one doesn't measure up to the OBC is the lack of energy. If you notice, Lea Michelle's voice is apparent when she starts to sing and it always sounds so put together but here the vocalists beautiful voice just blends. It's still an amazing piece, just not as strong
Okay look people. If you don't like this cast then don't watch it. Why waste time watching a cast you don't like when you can watch or listen to a cast you do like? You insulting a cast someone else likes ruins it for them so stop being rude to these performers who have dedicated many hours and days to this show. Every single version of Spring Awakening has been amazing and you should enjoy them for their uniqueness not hate them because they're different. my absolute favorite cast!!! while christy and gabby do not beat the obc for their characters...they are amazing and are close seconds for their characters (Phoebe and Lea were just too good)...but steffi, sarah, and kimiko r my favorite isle, martha, and thea by far...and the boys...oh the boys are just as good...best cast ever!! hope to see them a few more times before everyone's been replaced

I LOVE Spring Awakening, and when it closed on Broadway I was at least thankful that there would be a tour version. However, I don't know if I'll be able to see the tour version without being extremely disappointed. This Wendla just doesn't do it for me. I don't exactly love the others but this Wendla doesn't even stand out against them. Her voice isn't strong and her high notes sound airy.
I think you would be disappointed if you passed up a chance to see this cast. The OBC cast was great, but really this cast is absolutely spectacular too. They are much better live. Christy really has a lot of power.

Yeah, but the director had Steffi cut her hair into a regular bob recently because he thought that the asymmetrical bob was too modern. She still looks super pretty though.

Martha and Ilse have AMAZING parts during this song. I also found it incredible that Ilse, Thea, and I believe it was Georg kept switching between playing the piano.
I wish they had more official videos for the OBC. Nothing against the tour cast, of course! I personally think it would be really cool to have videos for Totally Fucked, And Then There Were None, and Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind.

Okay look people. If you don't like this cast then don't watch it. Why waste time watching a cast you don't like when you can watch or listen to a cast you do like? You insulting a cast someone else likes ruins it for them so stop being rude to these performers who have dedicated many hours and days to this show. I think this cast does an amazing job with this show and deserves to be seen through a new approach which is what you should do with any new cast or actor coming in the show. Thank you.

@berlande101 Doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to express how much you dislike a cast. I personally enjoy watching this cast and it ruins it for me when people have to put it down and I know I'm not the only one who agrees with that statement. Be considerate. It shouldn't be that hard.

My opinion about Kimiko is still the same. I probably won't see her live, but it's just not there. I saw Krista as Thea though and she was by far better than any Thea I've *seen.*

Okay, can we all stop comparing? Really, it gets annoying. Every single version of Spring Awakening has been amazing and you should enjoy them for their uniqueness not hate them because they're different. If they were all the same there'd be no point in having these videos. I'm not saying that everyone completely dislikes this video but really. Every cast is great. These girls did a great job and give them credit for it. I love the OBC just as much as the next person, but really? Stop comparing.

my absolute favorite cast!!! while christy and gabby do not beat the obc for their characters...they are amazing and are close seconds for their characters (Phoebe and Lea were just too good)...but steffi, sarah, and kimiko r my favorite isle, martha, and thea by far...and the boys...oh the boys are just as good...best cast ever!! hope to see them a few more times before everyone's been replaced

I saw this cast live in Boston last month. The cast was beyond great. I couldn't imagine the Broadway cast being nay better. The cast was flawless.

I LOVE Spring Awakening, and when it closed on Broadway I was at least thankful that there would be a tour version. However, I don't know if I'll be able to see the tour version without being extremely disappointed. This Wendla just doesn't do it for me. I don't exactly love the others but this Wendla doesn't even stand out against them. Her voice isn't strong and her high notes sound airy.

I think you would be disappointed if you passed up a chance to see this cast. The OBC cast was great, but really this cast is absolutely spectacular too. They are much better live. Christy really has a lot of power.

I just saw this cast in Baltimore last night, and I was absolutely blown away. Incredible talent. I can't imagine the broadway cast could be any better.

Yeah, but the director had Steffi cut her hair into a regular bob recently because he thought that the asymmetrical bob was too modern. She still looks super pretty though.

i dunno like i saw this cast in toronto and it was AMAZING but this music video just doesnt do it for me cuz like the choreo (choreography) it looks to rehersed like they know they half to do it its suppost to look natural ,and im just talking about the music video notthe show .and the voices was to clean <3

Martha and Ilse have AMAZING parts during this song. I also found it incredible that Ilse, Thea, and I believe it was Georg kept switching between playing the piano.
