  • Remidns me a lot of Iron Maiden great sound great job it's always a pleasure listening to you

  • @antiemo9 Thanks very much! Appreciate it!

  • That guitar sounds perfect for leads! I love soloists.

I'm gonna buy one soon specially for leads for my band's recordings.

I play a Gibson Explorer and a Les Paul Custom, soon to have an SL2h! haha

Awesome playing, dude! Very pure sounding.

  • @mgdth502 Thanks very much! yes, soloing is a breeze on these axes...The LP Custom is awesome too though! post a clip of your new Jackson when you get her!

  • thanks much stratlover37 !

  • Hey man, congratullations. Excelent playing, great feeling and phrasing.

I like to buy an USA SOLOIST guitar, but i`m still undefined between SL-1 and SL-2-H.

I don´t like SL-2H because I think that neck humbucking is less "organic" than single coil in the SL-1. Why do you prefer the SL-1?

Yours is a great techniqe!!!! Enjoyed your video.

  • thanks very much gogmagog123456789 !

this guitar was bought new in 1989....at the time they called it the Soloist Custom...i'm not familiar with SL-1 or SL-2...

mine is just 2 single coil and a humbucer...i replaced the neck and bridge pickups with Seymour Duncans...

  • Amaizing!!!

    what a feel!! AMAIZING!!!

  • thanks very much adirl17 !

  • big difference between bored and laid back haha

  • thanks so much danne202 ! keep rockin!

  • what tuning are all of the strings in.

  • hi kidguitarist4196 ! i use standard A440 tuning...

  • hey dave, i have a question for you. how hard is it to dial in a tone like that on th edigitech 2120?

  • hi BeboAltizer ! its real simple...this is a factory setting (#69 called WestCoast Solo)...i slightly modified it...

  • thanks a lot man.

  • man, i really love all your movies on youtube ! it sounds so beutifull !

  • thanks so much markmarzinzik !

  • Well, there's that beautiful baby I love!....the Jackson :) Sounding extra good too. I MUST KNOW where you hit the clam, Dave...I thought I heard one, not sure. The American Idol spoof part was so funny, nicely done! American Idol wouldn't know what hit them if you showed up!

    Hugs,

    Joy xo

  • thank you Joy! yes, she is a beauty alright...and so you know the clam was at 3:13

  • cool!!! and i love that guitar, and your playing!!!

  • thank you BeboAltizer !

  • What year is your soloist?

It sounds spectacular. It must be a pre Fender Jackson.

  • dave said that it was from 1989 and it has seymour duncan pickups. ;-)

  • right you are my friend!

  • i bought it new in 1989...what is a pre Fender Jackson? they are not afilliated in any way...separate companies...

  • I believe that Jackson was bought out by Fender a while ago. It was then that Jackson's guitars were not as good quality.

    Although I'm not totally sure.

  • I LOVE the 80's solo style i wish i could do tht but im not good enough yet Its cool how you just randomly talk about your family at the end and saying hi to people and stuff Its funny Anyway Great Vid Cya from David too

  • Hi Dave..

How is tne neck of your Jackson compared to your Gibson LP R9? Is it thicker or thinner? simmilar space between frets, etc.. Sounds great..

B.t.w... love the Simpsons. (_8(|) <= homer smiley.. hehe

  • thank you noobie71 ! the Jackson neck is thinnner but wider...frets are a little wider aprt as well...i can play both easily though..nice to change them up from time to time...

  • thanks indeed lhj31031 ! always glad to inspire!

  • Sweeet as always! But I have to say that although the Jackson is an excellent guitar there is no comparison to the sound of the Gibsons [I 'm gonna get kicked for that...].By the way,is there an oriental feeling in this song or is it my idea only?Keep'em coming man!

  • thank you firefighter5278 ! yes, the gibsons are in a class by themselves! oriental? yes, i can hear it...not intentional though. i do have a thing for asian women though...maybe thats it!
