WHAT! NO CABOOSE? One thing about setting up anything--I have found that if a person takes everything out of the box &start setting it up u run a good risk of either bumping against one of the items or even breaking an item by accident---I have always taken a "part" out as I needed it; so it does not get lost or damaged. Your Train looks good & will check on it. When K-Bee Toy Store was around got a large train set, (XMAS) totally "C"-size batteries, in 1995 & has worked every yr--was around $35
i actually have 3 of these sets they put out in the early 90's but with the 6 d batteries in the tender for power and the plastic track. either way, they make for good Christmas displays

@coolestgamenerd the cheap train toys for kids use batteries, model/detailed trains/locos use Electric power from the rails or a special battery
