I agree with you that the bible is an "all or nothing" book when used as intended, but that's what scares me. Throughout the centuries, the bible has been used to defend genocide, slavery, and the repression of women and homosexuals. Those that use the bible in this way are actually real Christians, because the bible does advocate those things. And you are right to make the comparison with Islam. An Islamic suicide murderer is just following his holy book literally.

This puts him to the right of people like Pat Robertson, who believes that there is redemption after sin.
Why is it that people view calvinism as God sending babys to hell, People who want to be saved cant be saved and people who dont want to be saved are saved?
