  • christ-mass is demon(distribute fortunes) worship, tree and fire worship(Baal(Hercules) and the Grove(Venus) CHRISTIANITY + PAGANISM, TRUTH MARRYING A LIE. ITS SIN!

  • True, every word!

  • how about worshipping Jesus as who he really is? The Annointed One of God and not God...the only Son of God and not God [Mat 16.16]!

  • 4) He is constantly talking about how most Christian men are cowards and that men in our culture have become effeminized. This bizarre tough guy talk seems to point towards some extreme sexual repression of his own that he is taking out on his flock. And it is sexist, plain and simple: He doesn't believe in the equality of man and woman. In this day and age, a man with such atavistic beliefs should not have the power that he does.

  • 3) Driscoll uses the Bible as his only reference for moral guidance and has a literal interpretation of the Bible. Because the God of the New Testament advocates slavery, racism, and genocide, it is not an ideal document to lead your life by. Why not teach people to read a variety literature, including the Bible?

  • As a Christian he uses the Bible as the only reference for moral guidance, it sounds like a circular argument but the infallibility of the Bible is taught within it. So it is an all or nothing book if used as intended. The authority of the Bible as a whole can be investigated and conclusions came to, but not in the fact that he exclusively uses it. E.g. I would expect a Muslim to use the Qur'an as their only (one which supercedes all others) moral guide.

  • I agree with you that the bible is an "all or nothing" book when used as intended, but that's what scares me. Throughout the centuries, the bible has been used to defend genocide, slavery, and the repression of women and homosexuals. Those that use the bible in this way are actually real Christians, because the bible does advocate those things. And you are right to make the comparison with Islam. An Islamic suicide murderer is just following his holy book literally.

  • can you give the chapter and verse of where the Bible promotes genocide, slavery, and repression in the the NT?

  • and the OT as well.

  • genocide: I Samuel 15:2-3: "Thus saith the LORD of hosts ... go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

  • but that does not endorse genocide today.

Israel was Gods judgment on that nation. The israelites were to take posession of that land.

  • slavery: 1 Timothy 6:1 and Exodus 21:20-21

  • that actually says servant.

Im am a servant, its called employment in these days.

your a slave, not to God though...

  • "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." -- John 15:6

If you need more, just ask.

  • 2) He targets young people. His whole act revolves around getting young people, some who are under the age of reason, to subscribe to his ideas. He is a man pushing 40, yet he dresses as a hipster teenager. He teaches them that their normal, human, sexual feelings are something to be ashamed of. He preaches against homosexuality.

  • Here are my issues with MHC and Driscoll: 1) He's trying to bring back Calvinism, which teaches people that God has already chosen who goes to heaven. This means that babies who die due to illnes are killed by God and will suffer in hell forever. This means that my family and I are going to burn and boil because we don't subscribe to Calvinism. This puts him to the right of people like Pat Robertson, who believes that there is redemption after sin.

  • Why is it that people view calvinism as God sending babys to hell, People who want to be saved cant be saved and people who dont want to be saved are saved?

if anyone ask me are you a calvinist, ill start replying, "ive never baptized a baby".

  • Your comment makes no sense. Can you please clarify? Do Calvinists believe that babies who die in infancy go to hell?

  • "Do Calvinists believe that babies who die in infancy go to hell?"

Thats what alot of people seem to think.

  • If it's true that Seattle is the least churched city in the country, that makes me a very proud citizen of Seattle. Let's keep a good thing going and spread the word that Mark Driscoll is a man of hatred and bigotry and a prfoundly ignorant and dangerous person. Please do not support his Calvinist church in any way. There are plenty of secular charities if you have money to give.
