  • The South was corrupted and hypocritical so if they took over the country Vietnam would hav dived into huge inequality and become fuked up.All AMerica wanted was influence in SEA and all the SouthVietnamese leaders wer ready to lick their shoes 4 their wealth that THEY would get and not the people. They're just as bad as da nothern communists after the war if not worse. And if da souths believed in democracy so much they would have fought to the last man for freedom and not chicken out at the end

  • GREAT video. Thank you.

  • I WISH SOUTH VIETNAM WON THAT DAY

  • We will never forget these men who fought against communist aggression...long live South Vietnam!vietnam cong hoa muon nam!

  • Just like many people don't believe in hell until they die and experience it themselves, South Vietnam had many Communist sympathizers who thought how bad could North Vietnamese Communists be compared to the corrupt Thieu gov't? Well, the answer is clear. All those sympathizers were systematically murdered and others were sent off to prison to be never heard again. Vietnam fell from the inside. And after the war, Vietnam basically abandoned Communism except dictatorship for the power elites.

  • What a bunch of hypocrites. Sure the Stalinist government of North Vietnam was no angle, but the corrupt right-wing regime in South Vietnam was not better either. The South was a puppet of America and not democratic at all.

The Vietnamese who went to the USA are just anticommunists who could not accept the fact that their capitalist republic was crushed by the forces of North Vietnam. The flag of South Vietnam is no democracy flag and it does not stand for freedom.

  • @UDSS Dude the when the North Vietnamese came they killed many Roman catholic

  • South Vietnam was as corrupt as Vietnam is today.

  • just forget them forever, ok??????????????, no one want to retell the history, my grandmother was also Republican soider.

  • As I watch this I cant help but think what many of these brave soldiers, who faught along side American forces to secure their country from communist agression, had to deal with after the fall of the south. "People's tribunals", "re-education" or just being made to disappear. With everything written about the war, I can hardly find any information. I think its something that America would just like to not know.

  • can we all juz get a along and amire the video without hate...i'm forrealz man, y does this north n south argument always arises wit video like these....have we not learn from the past.... (-_-'')

  • we need a love button not just a like button

  • Sometimes I feel there is a need to take back our native land and put the Imperial family back into power. The government of Vietnam ran well under the leadership of our last Emperor until he was exiled then everything went to shit! Our last Emperor was very kind and loving unlike the last President of South Vietnam, he was brutal from what I was told by my family.

  • @vietscouty You've mistaken the last president of South Vietnam (Nguyen Van Thieu) from the first president of Vietnam (Ngo Dinh Diem). Ngo Dinh Diem was the one people considered "ruthless" and "brutal". He did things like pull suspected Communists out of their homes onto the streets and had them publicly executed by his special police. But during his term, communism was VERY close to nonexistent and the war could have been over long before American marines set foot on DaNang.

  • @RevengeSeeker02 Ngo Dinh Diem's major flaw and the cause of his downfall was letting his younger brother (Ngo Dinh Nhu) carry out raids on buddhist temples and assaults on monks. Everyone has their flaws and this flaw led to his execution by his own soldiers. If this didn't happen, the South would never have fallen.

BTW the last emperor (Bao Dai) was nothing more than a playboy who sold out his country just to be able to sleep with French women. VN DID NOT run well under him at all.

  • what was the people at the time Vietnam war happened? why they were with the devil VC? revenge for our soldiers, our hero who was fight against the devil VC. take down the communist regime, cremate it. damn the VC.

  • last protector of the ignorants!

    Long live Bac Ho

  • The war has been over for years and people lost on both sides. Vietnam and the US are normalizing relations and I think that is great. To honor the dead on both sides should be the issue of respect. Not the wrong that happened on both sides way back when. The person who put the video together did a fine job and I can tell it was with the greatest respect. Good Job.

  • How did they defend vietnam? You guys bombed, napalmed, killed and raped millions of your own people. Then you stood by while we bombed, napalmed, killed and raped millions of your own people and we even took away your sovereignty. I;m sorry despite being american I can't help but sympathize for the VC I feel they truly fought for freedom and peace.

  • @MrNein9 Napalming and bombing is full communist soldiers not civilians. VC shell plenty of Viet civilians so don't distort and twist facts. Vietnamese people did not want communism. If you sympathize with VC, you're welcome to live in their toilet bowl dictatorship. You sound like a holocaust denier type. Or an admirer of Stalin. There are people like that in Germany and Russian. You should seek psychiatrist help for mental illness. Btw, I think you're a scumbag.

  • Phia nam se song lai!

    The south shall rise again!

  • the music really went well with it.I like it.

  • long live VNCH !

  • How can we take those who fought back Vietnames as patriots or heroes? Alhough they said they fought commies but commies were Vietnamese also and they should have accepted the freedom of political will. Instead on negotiating with the commies they decided to slaughter commies. This was the act of traitors. They were weaker than commies so they decided to fight side-by-side with the US ground forces, viewed Vietnamese the way the US wanted them to. This was ridiculous.

  • NVA violated treaty and came into my parents land which was a kingdom at the time to help terrorist pathet Lao go into power.Alot of royal Lao citizens were shot try to cross the Mekong to get into Thailand than the communist ordered genocide on the Hmong people.Commies have no shame! To this day LPDR never admits to mistakes

  • Hats off to the old republic.I salute you

  • @kevinThanh92 "From our ancestors come our names from our virtues our honor".

  • @kevinThanh92 We can't without them some of us wouldn't be soldier today

  • @kevinThanh92

these people are our moms, dads, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters..forget them? you're nut ! the vc should forget about Marx and Lenin.

  • @kevinThanh92 if everyone thought like you no one will know anything about their own country our family if I did not know my family history i would not know i was related to Clynt Eastwood

  • @kevinThanh92 = Forget the past ? Where are you from ?

  • @kevinThanh92 So many soul has lost during the war. We will not forget it because this is part of our history. The winner can't create a country without the contributor: the defeated or the loser! Although we the communist has won the war but we should pay the tribute to our ARVN as well because they had put their lives on the line as defeated.

  • @NgJackal1990 forget ok?, iam sorry, my vocabulary has so less , even though some words you said that i don't understand deep.

  • @kevinThanh92 Poor you!

  • @NgJackal1990 YOU BITCH!

  • South Vietnam all day. I wonder how vietnam would be if we won the war.

  • @kangerstan

I think it would have been much like modern-day South Korea. It definately had great potential yet the North destroyed that.

  • Thank you for the slideshow, my husband was one of them. A tribute to those who fought for a good cause. Appreciate your effort!!

  • don't worry, it is only a matter of time when the Communists will kick out of power! VC are on the last leg! Communism died almost decades ago so VC look pretty stupid calling them Dang Cong San!! :) Nice music btw!

  • @siddude - agree. a tribute to those who fought for a good cause. my dad was one of the last protectors, who fought at Kien Hoa where the hot spot of the war was, and left vn and never come back since 1980 after the reeducation camp and escape to thai. He passed away with cancer.recently after 29 years lived in us.

  • @mikedanannie Sorry to hear of your loss.

  • Lets remember what happened today 35 years ago "LONG LIVE SOUTH VIETNAM" SAIGON FOREVER Not Ho Chi Minh City

  • my other grandfather's brother was a hero taking 56 nva and vc soldiers with his m16 and m60

  • VNCH MUON NAM!!!

  • if the south vietnmaese people just have a little bit of al qeada network in them i sure will be able to take down the communist bastard 1 C4 coming right up i guess you loser not gona do anything right now so just wait for my good news!!!

  • viet kieu should come back to vn and use this chance to change vietnam to freedom and progressive...lessen the role of dogmatic party..do it for yr homeland! time to turn the cong san party down...

    lucky u!

  • and diem became a crazy catholic and despot. but he should not have been killed.

  • usa should have allowed south army to form up 5 million troops and attack north and take hanoi. then south can take the whole nation.

  • You could have done it in 1945. Why didn't you?

  • america never left korea because of japan so close but nam held no strategic value so they left.

  • i am south korean i dont even know why i watch this

  • If America had not involved the war, South Vietnam would have fallen into communism in 1954 and more Vietnamese would have been murdered in cultural revolutions like those launched by Mao in China (20 million deaths) and Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (2 millions)

Total Vietnamese democide by communists:1,040,000 (1975-87) by UNHCR

    Executions: 100,000

    Camp Deaths: 95,000

    Forced Labor: 48,000

    Democides in Cambodia: 460,000

    Democides in Laos: 87,000

    Vietnamese Boat People: 500,000 deaths.

  • @TOMP66666 South Vietnamese fought for a purpose, North Vietnamese fought for a purpose. Americans fought with no purpose, no motivation, and had no business killing our people. The sooner we were united the less deaths there were to be. The fact is that if the North and South were united as one, why would there be any sort of mass murder. Ho Chi Minh is nothing like Pol Pot or Mao, the difference is obvious.

  • It's obvious communism was a stupid ass idea believed by stupid ass people like you! What are you defending in 2010? So boring and stupid to defend stupid ass VC in 2010!! GET A LIFE!

Here is a clue, Vietnam without VC and the cult of Ho Chi Minh, then Vietnam can join the civilized human race until then Vietnam VC is just an Asian Zimbabwe.

  • a time to remember .....

  • Losing your homeland must be the saddest thing ever! :(

  • betray your homeland is worst. How about running away from your homeland and then keep saying bad things about your country without living with it while everybody at home moved on. So pathetic! Jesus, get u life bro...

  • another commiezombie whose brain has not been washed.

  • @samlongtheboss

How did they betray Vietnam? VC love Vietnam and its people more or they love power and commie BS? I think I know the answer already. VC love POWER and love to twist things where 2+2=5!! You better crawl back into your Cu Chi tunnel now! Poking your VC head into the free world shows what an ugly monkey you are!

  • Thanks for posting this video, I really admire all the people who vowed for my country the South of VN. They will never be forgotten in our hearts.

  • thank you for this touching video!

Please remember all who served in QLVNCH!! Rest in peace! They will be vindicated when the sh*t stain of communism is washed from Viet Nam.

  • vietnam cong hoa!!!!.....may it forever live in the hearts of the ARVN and the south vietnamese people.

  • this video is sad you can imagine this people and thier sacrifices.

  • God bless

  • ARVN forever LETS TAKE BACK OUR LAND AND PISS ON HO CHI MINH'S GRAVE army republic of VIETNAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nixon and the fcking anti war protesters should be blame for the lost of south vietnam.

  • No not Nixon but Ford and the anti war protestors are to blame. Nixon is not to blame

  • @XCJimmyXC I'm not saying the North wasn't bad. or anything. I support South Vietnam all the way. I don't know why but the ARVN force lacked motivation, Yes brave, but probably bad drill instructors. idk for sure. but it's sad we lost.

  • @XCJimmyXC HCMSDD - 'Ho CHi Minh Sucks Dead Dick'

  • @XCJimmyXC ARVN was corrupted as Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

  • and god all the commies he killed

    its worth it

  • my uncle fought in the war =]

he survived but then 3 years ago he died of lung cancer

due to when the communist captured my uncle and made him and the s vietnam army do hard labour for 13 years.

    you dam communists.

when he died when i went home we din't even set the alarm cause it was off so when i opend the door it sounded like the alarms when the war started..

  • @AznSoshido: Dude, cancer is tumor that grows on the cells for a long periof of time. Lung cancer is caused by smoking, genetic factors, radon gas, asbestos, or very bad air pollution. It's funny that your uncle died from lung cancer and you immediately blamed the communists caused him the cancer. You and the people who liked your comment obviously don't know biology. If you wanna blame the communists, you will find an excuse to blame them anyway, even the most ridiculous excuses.

  • It's ashamed!. Both ARVN and NVA were/are among the best armies in the world. Had they not fought each other, be united as one army to defend their country instead, bigger armies such as Chinese would not stand a chance to steal their Paracel Islands in 1974!.

  • quick question? whats with the pictures with the soldiers firing the bow and arrow? seems interesting..

  • Thank you for the upload. May we never forget.

  • God bless all the brave South Vietnamese and allied forces that fought for a free and independent Republic of (South) Vietnam. Hanoi should of kept it's arse north of the

17th parallel, where the vast majority of the South Vietnamese population wanted them to stay!

  • Thank you for posting this video

  • If you carried the rifle you have my respect...

  • God bless Quan Luc Viet Nam Cong Hoa!

  • long live VNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awsome video, thanks for sharing it to us.VNLHG

  • I apologize if I hurt anyones feelings, there were good ARVN's. S.Viet Rangers and Marines performed well. It was very difficult for us Americans to tell which ones we could trust. Charlie was everywhere and everywhere, even in so called pacified areas the VC had eyes and ears...Barber cutting GI's hair during the day and at night he or she was lobbing mortar rounds into the same base..

  • Over 275,000 South Vietnamese died for their country out of 17 million. The US has never lost that many men in proportion to its population in any war! Do the math dumbshit! I'm sure you have never been in anyone's military!

There good, decent people in the world and they are asshole such as yourself.

  • we didnt beg U.S for help, instead , after recieved US help, we wanted to have total control , under Vietnamese leader, but American still have some influence, because their goal is to stop the comunist from spreading

  • @wilburhog Ngo Dinh Diem never wanted US military to fight in Vietnam because he wanted to control the war making decision in Vietnam. Your political leaders wanted Ngo Dinh Diem out because he did not accept your political leaders' advice. It is your leaders (Kennedy, LBJ) who escalated the war and brought US troops in Vietnam. South Vietnam's leaders were more than willing to die and fight for our freedom. Your knowledge is shallow just like your brain!

  • @siddude There's some truth in what you say.

  • Sure, we fought to protect America from communist takeover.

  • And the million Northerners who fled south during the earlier part of the war were not former VietMinh themselves? When they fought to free Vietnam from French rule, we supported. When they fought against the independence of their own people in the south, we resisted them.

  • Bullshit. Go read on the war and its casualties. Those who fought for the VietMinh had only one goal; to free Vietnam from French rule. They joined the VM for that purpose only, not because they all loved communism. Why should Vietnamese people even care about communism at that time?

Oh, and my family was from the North and last I checked, we're Buđdhists.

  • @Viet4lifeandbeyond

Viet Minh was a front for the communists. VC/Viet Minh used a nationalist mask to hide their ugly VC faces! Btw, F*ck Ho Chi Minh, your uncle!

  • @Viet4lifeandbeyond

No dude. LOL. Nice speech but Viet Minh only pretended fight for independence of Vietnam. They fought to impose a stupid ass communist dictatorship and this is a fact. So tell me how Vietnam is not a shitty communist country? You do not sound very educated. This is your logic, Viet Minh love Viet people so much they had to kill a lot of Vietnamese??? LOL OMG, you make me laugh!

  • ply155:(part 1 of 2) I agree mostly with you but not 100%. Many but not most of those who moved South were Catholics. Some were non-Catholics. Most either sided with the French or the French-sponsored regime of former Emperor Bao Dai. It's fair to say most made a living that was dependent upon the French-created economy and therefore the move South was more of an economic move than a political one or at least as much of an economic choice as a political one.

  • trandietnguy: The majority of Catholics before the 17th parallel divide lived in Northern Vietnam. The migration south was not just a economic move but a political one for religious Vietnam.

Diem and his administration knew well enough that the nationwide reunification elections would not be truly free because citizens in the north would be compelled to vote the communist party line.

In my humble opinion anh trandietnguy, it was more political and less economical.

  • No. The Vietnam war was a war fought between South Vietnam and North Vietnam with initially American Advisors. Then it was only Vietnamese versus Vietnamese. Americans escalated themselves in the war later on and then evacuated in '72-'73; making it just Vietnamese versus Vietnamese again.

The Vietnam war was a war between Vietnamese with external help from the USA, USSR, PRC, etc.

  • Agreed and thanks! He sure likes to talk alot, even after I'm gone, he finds someone to insult. Watch out, you might be next! lol. VC's are funny...

  • great video.

  • Commies, always causing trouble. Get off this video you scum. Your type are suppressing and killing our people and culture. You do not care about anything other than saving face and not letting anyone insult your pride.

Rather than insulting us, why not shut up and go friggin feed the people who are begging for food on the streets of Vietnam you jerk!

  • And what kind of idiot made up "vichoco"? Some kind of pre-school dropout?

There is and will always be one word for your kind... VIETCONG!

  • You just ruined it for yourself. No VietCong would say that Viets are from 'Soviet'. They may be wrong in their political views but they still have ethnic pride like all of us.

Your just another Cambodian trying to stir up hate among us Viets because its fun to watch for you and because you guys have hated us for all our past crimes against you and your people.

  • You make no sense... retard.

  • ???

  • They ain't commies.

  • We should be proud of who we are and where we came from!!!

  • :'-)

  • my uncle graduated in 1971, vo bi dat lat, great respects for all the fallen soldiers and the soldiers of ARVN in general.

  • hahaha i would fak u your mom anytime babe

  • i hope to one day raise an army and take back vietnam... ARVN forever

  • lol

  • lol

  • Army Republic Vietnam Forever.

  • Great song choice. VNCH forever!

  • Indeed, the Vietnamese people sweat and bled for freedom. God bless them all and may they see true freedom in the future.

    -- Bill Morris

    USAF Vietnam Veteran, 1969-1970

  • The only reason South Vietnam lost was because the the North and VCs played dirty. They used elderly women and underage children in combat dressed as civilians. South Vietnam was somewhat undertrained, but Saigon would have won if it were actually a legit war.

  • Thanks for the all the great pictures of Repulic Of Vietnam Armed Forces.

    Great Job !!!

    Lt. Pham

    Vietnamese Special Operations Group

  • thank you for the post. i'm forever grateful for their fighting for S.Vietnam's freedom & democracy. unfortunately, they fought an unrewarding war. also, i agree with general Loan. a picture may be worth a thousand words; however, without knowledge of the matter, it is then only an image, a imagination-inspiring food for the ignorant.

  • My grandfather was in this army... He was an officer i think, spent most of his time in the POW during the war

  • Where is he now? Did he survive the so called "re education" camps

  • Great tribute to a forgotten army. Great pics!

  • Good job ! Chú Vũ ( Vũ Thanh)

Cảm ơn cháu nhiều nhé !

  • Good pics. The ones showing the human side of the VN soldiers were the best.

  • Really? Thanks! I wanted people to see they weren't just soldiers but also a very enthusiastic bunch. But I like the uniformed pictures more because that showed the discipline and strength of the old RVN military which people underestimate.

  • great video !!! south VN Military the best ! thanks for sharing !
