hasn't OU lost the national championship game like 5 times in a row, and one non-national champ game to Boise State, that I stayed up late at night just to laugh my ass off on the trick play. Long live upsets, god OU sucks.
Pelini can be my defensive coordinator any day. This dickface Venables has sucked from the start. He rode Mike Stoops coattails and when it was time for him to step up and do the job himself, he proved from day 1 that he was a failure. We haven't had real swagger since Mike. Pelini wasn't our problem a few years ago, Venables was. Look at LSU a couple of years ago. Their defense was #1 when Pelini was running it. Think about what he could do with the defensive personel WE have right now.
You are arguing from opinion and not facts. The fact is; is that since venables has been there they have been a top defense amongst the nations stats, year in and year out. Stats back him up.
Nesnaj21 -Oklahoma was God awful back in 95.Matter of fact that was one of the worse decades in Sooner football period! It was also 14 years ago.I was loving the Neb/Florida game though(lost count on how many times Spurrier threw his visor on the ground)I'll always pull for the Big 12(well I have a hard time pulling for Texass but thats another story lol)But since we are pulling out Past history....how about the one record that will never be broken by NU or any other school (more above)
has gotten a good coach in Bo Pelini and the recruiting wars just got turned up a notch. I would not be surprised to see NU playing the Big 12 championship is a couple of years.
Now...Lets talk OU 2009....
yes we did loose some important people 2008 in our offense but (1)we still have Sam Bradford -a force to be reckon with to be sure but we also have coming back running backs Demarco Murray and Chris Bown (both 1000 yd rushers last season) along with receivers Ryan Broyles and (more above)
The trash talk between the two schools fans I would imagine is done by the newer fans not the older ones (like me!).Don't get me wrong,I still want us to beat NU like a drum when we play you but I will always pull for NU when they are not playing OU.
We have two great schools with great football traditions .Good luck this season NU,except the OU game! :)
Newer fans.....? That is an assumption. I've missed four home games since 1994. I'm all for being classy, but I'm also all for arguing college football, that is what makes it a great sport because of the passion that is rooted into it. My statements are nothing but the truth, OU has better recruits than Nebraska like I said, a fan of truth would not disagree with the obvious.OU is a far better team in every aspect than Nebraska except the kicking game. Even with OU's depleted line and receivers.
Chill out dude! I'm on your side! Matter of fact I have your video on my "add to your list "(and yes.I was there at that game).
Sorry but If you have only been following the Sooners since 1994 your still on the newer fan list. Try talking to the ones that started watching Sooner football when Bud Wiilkinson was there or when Barry Switzer was the coach(yep!we're still around! lol)
As far as better recruits ,your right! Ou does have better recruits than NU,I also think that Nu (more above)
I am Sooner born and Sooner bred but I have always had respect for the Huskers.Probably my second favorite team in the Big 12.
OU and NU fans have always had a respect for each other as have the football players. Don't believe it?How about the reunion of the players from the "game of the century " (1971)between OU and NU at Owen Field in Norman last year? The team that lost that game!
After the game stopped being annual in 1997 then the newer fans knew nothing of this respect (con'td above)
"Oklahoma is going to be Nebraska's bitch this fall!" -you
based on what? not recruiting, ou dominates in recruiting. ou has more national titles than nebraska as well. nebraska was a 70's, 80's, 90's team, now they are still buried in the past. Nebraska is in the weak north which has been dominated by pathetic missouri, that is how bad nebraska is. No one in their right mind thinks nebraska is better than ou, only narrow minded nebraska fans that are out of touch with reality like yourself.
The past? The players I named are current players.Speaking of the past, the reason u are a die hard Nebraska fan u idiot is because of their historic successful past.If they were a team like Akron or Rutgers u wouldn't like them. So now that we have established that you are a hypocrite by the statement of "get out of the past you idiot,"it proves you really don't know what your talking about whether its concerning nebraska, ou, the big 12, or even college football in general. Atleast you tried.
NOW ASK YOURSELF, DOES NEBRASKA HAVE ON PLAYER THAT IS IN THE SAME BREATH AS THESE GUYS, ABSOLUTELY NOT. OU is predicted to have a possible 5 top 15 nfl draft picks next season. Nebraska has to bring back Tom Osbourne just to re-state the goodness of the program because otherwise it is long and forgotten. Any sane person knows that nebraska just does not have the talent to compete with ou, texas, oklahoma state, and i would even say kansas.
If you knew anything about recruiting you would obviously know that OU is the better team without argument. OU has superstars, Nebraska has players that are far from stars.
OU has been in or around the top ten in recruiting since Bob stoops has been there, outside of maybe 1999 his intitial season.
"They will only stand on the field on their junior and senior years."
You truly are dumb aren't you. OU was the second youngest team last season in terms of Sophs and Freshman, do your research before you make your assumptions, your assumptions prove your lack of intelligence.
Well the reason Oklahoma only stands out their, is because they start out fresh every year by whooping some team that has never been ranked, then they whomp on some low big 12 north teams. Beside Nebraska.
You want to call me dumb? Nebraska's essentials are going to be proven in Lincoln.
I don't care what OU did in 99 to 2008. Nebraska is going to be ranked at the start. Our head coach is a defense coach, and he helped LSU win the National title over OSU.
I would chalk that one up moreso to Les Miles rather than Pelini. Anyone could have called a good defensive game with the stars on the then lsu tigers. The head coach gets most of the credit and rightfully so. Stoops has been to 4 national title games in the last 9 years, and has won the Big 12 conferance(yeah the one nebraska is in) 6 of the last 9 years. Nebraska hasnt won it since 1999.
Lets not forget the shalacking OU did Nebraska last season. Wasn't it 28-0 in the first qtr, or was it 35-0 in the first? The final was an embarassing 62-28.
OU has better players obviously, more speed, more power, more everything on Nebraska and that includes the upcoming season. Is it wise or logical to be a mediocre team(nebraska) and threaten a top ranked sooner team that set the all time scoring record for most points in a season in the history of college football.
ou scored atleast 45 points in 12 games last year.
ou scored atleast 50 points at halftime in 2 games last year.
bradford went 300+ yards and 5 td's on nebraska last season.
''I'm responsible for what happened out there,'' Pelini said. ''I'm the voice of this team. I told our guys, 'Oklahoma's over. We're moving on.''' pelini's postgame comments after the massacre against ou last season. AND YOU WANT TO BRAG ABOUT HIS COACHING?HE GAVE UP 62 POINTS, THE MOST EVER IN THE HISTORIC RIVALRY
1995 Nebraska Football (Greatest of all time) OU State - 64-21 W Michigan State 50-10 W Arizona State 77-28 W Pacific 49-7 W Washington State 35-21 W Missouri 57-0 W Kansas State 49-25 W Colorado 44-21 W Iowa State 73-14 W Kansas 41-3 W OKLAHOMA 37-0 W NATIONAL TITLE! Florida 62-24 W!
It was without a doubt the best game I've ever been to at Owen Field. If we can keep the intensity up, we'll go to Stoolwater and beat OSU down like it was nobodys business.
I've never seen the fireworks set off on the West Side Press Box and I've been going to games since 2002. That was intense and pumped up the crowd even more!!! Boomer Sooner!!
I have had season tickets since the early 90s in section 14 and thats the first time I have noticed it too! This video I mean, I've never seen in in person I'm too busy prayin the flames that come out of the north scoreboard don't catch! Scares the hell out of me
Nice video man, I was probably straight across from you in the alumni section. I have never heard that stadium soooo loud, maybe if stoops would stay on the crowd like he does the players we will be that loud all the time, plus play all the games at night haha
Yeah it was exhilarating to say the least. I went to the OU -Nebraska game in 2000 when it was #1 vs #2 and it wasnt near as loud as it was against Tech.

Oklahoma is a cool football team. They run the score up on anybody they can, and then get exposed in Bowl games.

I'm sure you know what it is- Oklahoma's 47 straight wins, the most in NCAA Div one history. Its an old record but so is 1995!
I look for the the Huskers to have a good team this year but they are still a ways off to match some of the great teams that Neb has had.
Respect for Nu but still hope OU beats them good.We still have a scary offense and a great defense.

Mossis Madu along with Jermaine Gersham (26 career TD's). Not to mention OUr defense is coming back almost intact.

Get out of the past you idiot. Sorry for calling you names, but that's how you're acting.
The past is the past. Bo Pelini's first year with the huskers, and we fall to you guys, but score 4 touchdowns.
Now you want to tell me what happened in 2008. Chase Daniels is gone. Wide-Outs gone!
Oklahoma offensive line: Gone.
Ndamukong Suh will be pushing threw the soft Oklahoma offensive line to knock Sam Bradford on his ass.
Now it hasn't happened yet, so good luck to OU and NU.

Jermaine Gresham (TOP 15 DRAFT PICK, #1 TE IN THE COUNTRY AND MOST THINK HE IS THE BEST ATHLETE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL, 6'8" 260, RUNS A 4.5)
Gerald McCoy (A TOP TEN NFL DRAFT PICK, TOP DEFENSIVE LINEMAN IN THE COUNTRY)
Austin English(Pre-season 2008 Defensive MVP of the Big 12)
Demarco Murray (1000+ rush yards last season)
Chris Brown (1100+ rush yards last season)

You can't judge on High School star recruits. They're lucky to make it to the next level.

Again do you research.
"well the reason oklahoma only stands out their, is because they start out fresh every year by whooping some team taht has never been ranked."
the reason ou jumped texas last year was due to their strength of schedule. this season, ou plays ranked byu and @ miami.
"nebraska is going to be ranked at the start." that means nothing, ou is preason #3 and #2 depending on what poll.
bob stoops is a defensive coach from florida. bob stoops has won a nat'l title.
StandUpForISRAEL 2 years ago
I agree Oklahoma has a strong schedule, but BYU plays in the Mountain West with amateur college football teams.
Miami is finally ranked after going 7-6 and being dropped my California in the Emerald Bowl.
Stoops and Pelini are good friends from childhood, so they'll both know defense pretty well.
They both come from SEC teams which can whomp on so teams when they need to.
I know stoops has won a National Title, but so has Pelini.
We'll settle this on the field this fall.
