  • Fabulous tutorial. I literally just got photoshop today, and with a tuts like this, people will think I've had it for years, so cheers. The only trouble I'm having is the outter glow. When I select it, no matter how high or low I put the percentages, nothing changes... Any help? PS... I'm on a macbook pro. Thx.

  • Nevermind mate... I was changing the structure rather than the element, like I said, I'm new... haha. Cheers.

  • Thanks, I'm glad the video helped!

  • I had no idea what this process called, so I was worried my rough guess on google wouldn't bring up any results. Luckily, this video showed me how to get exactly the effect I wanted quickly and easily. Plus the narrator's voice was quite sexy, so that made it even more fun to watch! ^_~

  • Sexy voice? Are you sure you've got the right video! :o)

Thanks for your comments, they made me smile! And I'm glad you found the information helpful too!

  • nvm, I figured it out by my self. thnx any7 way! =D

  • If I may? How do I open another while the current images is up? =D

  • Use the Open command to open as many images as you like.

  • nice, always wanted to know how to do this.

    thanks

  • Thank u sooooo much bro

  • How can i do this with elements 6? i don't see clipping mask :(

  • In Elements this is called grouping. Select the top layer and go to Layer -> Group with Previous. You can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL G if you hover your mouse pointer between the two layers in question.

    Hope this helps

  • thx:)

  • One of the best Photoshop tutorials I've seen- your explanation of how active pixels vs transparency define what shines through helped me finally understand clipping masks!

Also, in my opinion Shift + Ctrl + G to *ungroup* a clipping mask when the underlined bottom layer is selected is the easiest way remove them! That way you can make and remove them without having to find the right line to click on in the layers palette.

    Keyboard shortcuts rock the world!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you found it effective. Also good to hear about the keyboard shortcut. I agree - they do rock. Nice work!!

  • @idro2k

probably he have used camtasia or camstudio

  • hmmm, does anyone know what program he is using to record?

  • Hi there,

I used Cam Studio for this recording I think.

    Hope that helps

    Matt

  • many thanks :)

    Ill give it a go!

    PS, did you zoom?

    Have a good day

  • The zooming was 'edited' in afterwards. I don't tend to do it when I'm recording!

  • Great video. Easy to follow and very informative. Thanks
