@Jiwpgakis sorry for the late reply! I honestly don't remember exactly, but at the time, I was playing a heck of a lot, so I would eat this stuff up. I'd hate to sound cocky, but it probably took me a couple of hours on a saturday to get it down for the video. I actually recently played this song at a talent show and it took me 2 weeks to work it up since I was so rusty!

I'm practising that solo for 2 Months now and I can hit the 120 bpm...but the actual 130 still needs practice.

It's funny to see that I always have to go back to 90 bpm or so to get a relaxed hand when going up to 120. I never could start that solo right at 120 without warming up

That's often the case with videos on youtube, but it's not the case here. His tone is so closely matched to the tone on the actual track it's difficult to tell apart for some, but for me its clear that to hear him playing. Well fucking played from the guitarist's point of view in nailing not just the solo, but the tone as well!

Eh, i don't know. I still prefer that there's a noticeable volume difference between the backing track and what's being played. If he really did nail JP's tone, which i don't doubt, he should boost his volume a little and show it off, rather than hiding it in the mix like this.

I hope these tips help:

Use your wrist not your elbow.

There's a more effective pick angle for alternate picking.

You can also use legatos.

Let your right keep catching your left.. through constant practice, it'll evetually keep up.

you nailed that solo perfectly, youre an extremely great player. the one thing that I would advise is to try and bolster your alternate picking. There is a good portion of the solo that you played legato, and your right hand seems to be lagging just slightly. Please don't take this as an insult, farthest from it. I think that this is the best non-petrucci rendition I've seen of this solo ever, and that you are a very talented player, but petrucci would want it that way. Keep up the great work =)
