Taqwa is attained by "We hear, and we obey". But ofcourse these simple words require a lifetime of dedication, and steadfastness or Istiqama. May Allah(swt) grant us the great blessings of Taqwa, ameen.
The mere mention of God effects them, but only to a limited extent. You can read some verses from the Bible, and the Jinn will leave, or pretend to leave, and come back. Just like humans believe, follow or are influenced by certain teachings so are the Jinn. The only difference is that humans can ignore the Quran if they choose to do so, not the Jinn.
