TA's get paid well. They are not just paid to work but to further their own personal research. I hope some of these TA's who were for the strike end up working at a restaurant where you make minimum wage to wash dishes. Then mabye they would see how good they had it.

im sure that about 70 percent of the students that complain about their ta's are the ones who don't actually give a fuck about anything. So is there really an effort put in? Im not saying that all Ta's are good Ta's, But we cant assume that because you got a bad mark in your class that it is necessarily the Ta's fault.. And i believe that it was some sort of Ta's union that actually started the strike. so most Ta's got Shafted by the strike as well. its crazy..

I would've paid handsomely to be given the permission to run all these assholes over...I had to endure this strike, lost a year's worth of tution, and on top of that, had to put up with asshole TA's the following year that were still "jaded" by the strike. This is truly a pathetic school. The school has two goals: continue to OVERenroll students and to keep building parking structures and charging $20 per day to park at JANE AND FUCKING FINCH!

Not all the TA's wanted the strike. And now even the ones that didn't want it cannot even work although they want to. Some of my TA's I really like, some of them I hate. There has been many times that my TA was a complete idiot. I wish they were not in a union and they got paid on an individual basis. That way the students would get the good TA's. The university could have a good rep, and only the good TA's would be noticed and be payed well. While the idiot TA along with CUPE, CAN GO TO HELL!!

sweet! well since the povertyline is calculated assuming one works fulltime hours and I would not be doing so as a TA, im all in. Also, since 100% of fulltime students also live below the povertyline, I can just be one of them. s a TA I wouldnt teach classes twice as long as I have to because I can end them at my will. Since none of these issues occur at any other uni, I cant wait to haggle for my already inflated salary! sign me up!

When I was talking to the T.A. at 2:15, he told me that he was around in the last strike that went for 11 weeks. He said that it was nice at first, because it was sort of fun and the weather was sort of nice, but then it got cold, and winter happened, and people got more bitter and less optimistic.

I believe that's the case now, explains why I hear a lot of stories about them being dicks nowadays.
