@ BobsPipes40 this video was shot with a smartphone, how do you put that on a tripod??? Your comment about being a volunteer is ludicrous to say the least!!! These people work regular jobs and in a rural area the manpower is limited at 8:00 A.M. Second,I had a highly renowned fire chief of 26 years from a paid FD said the video was great. I have 30 years of FF experience and I think I know very well how to shoot video. The focus was on the building that was reaching it's flashover point. Thanks..
Videographer needs a tripod and use it. So much panning viewers get motion sickness. The time to put the wet stuff on the red stuff was exceedingly slow. Being volunteer is no excuse for not being professional and get the job done. More property should have been saved. That's the name of the game. Lots of crews and rigs told to stage when they should be assigned sectors to work on. Looked more like a county Parade. I know you can do better.
Guys before you start jumping to conclusion they could have had issues getting water and had to wait till they got water to put the tower up many things could be happening that we dont know about
I do not want to be disrespectful to anyone, I have been a Volunteer ff for well over 12 years now, And we NEVER take 5 mins to get the tower up ande working>>>Just saying it took a while, Not being disrespectful.
@TheBlueizdabest First of all this was in the Town of Newburgh. The City of Newburgh is a paid FD and their fast team was called to the scene. The city has more fires per capita than NYC.
@OnThe23rd I straightened him out after I shot the video and told him I was fighting fires longer than he's been alive. He apologized and all was well. I did tell him you do not talk to the public that way. Your point is great!!
@nab07rams The fire started in the attic. The only way to save the building was from an exterior attack. It was determined that it would not make any sence to send FF's in and risk a collapse and having a FF killed.

What took so long getting the Tower in the AIR.......??
bigtowman72 2 weeks ago
@bigtowman72 The lack of manpower. It's very low during the day when most VFF's are at work.

That firefighter at the end should learn some manners. No way to talk to the public.
