can you use mixed bird seed to accomplish a variety of sprouts? just thought it would be interesting, i love sprouts, and am willing to try this, I just want your opinion
I want to get started!! how much seed do you need to get a couple of srout juices a day. .. is it a cost effective thing to do or quite expensive to get started?
Just use a handful of black sunflower seeds. Put them on a paper towel and wet the towel. cover it with plastic wrap for a couple days till they sprout. No expense at all. I buy 50 lbs of seeds for the birds, then just use a handful of them in their shells
Just try it. I have jars and trays of experiments going around the house. So far mung are fast and easy and freshest tasting.
Just put them in a jar with a cloth or mesh rubberbanded around the top. Rinse twice a day and put in an opaque conatiner like a cookie jar or crock away from light or in a cupboard. I have some under the sink in cupboard and some in cookie jar. I think whaetgrass sprouts are not good to eat but the grass is good to juice. There is no easier healthier cheaper food.
Until this video, I *never* knew people eat sunflower seed! What does it taste like?

@Sunshyne276 Wonderful! Either sprouted or shelled. It comes in trail mix, too.

@buddiereedindeed Lots of the bird seed turns into grass, which isn't digestible from what I hear.

Nancy,
Do you mean Black Oil Sunflower seeds? Those are what I feed the wild birds. If not, which ones? Thanks, Diane

I wish I could do it. I suck though and cannot.
I'd stuff my face with those sprouts.

Just do more research until you can see the whole process in your head. Then you can do it!
