Just one doubt: Why using a 2N1711 transistor? (Si NPN 50v 1A hfe300 800mW) a smaller one would work as well. Or was the one you had at hand at the time? Thanks in advance!

I love it. Great demonstrations. As you know Piezoelectric materials have Pyroelectricity properties( especially PZTs) but reverse not. Cheers Medi.
