This battle was really disappointing for me the first time I did it. I has KOS-MOS, Jr., and MOMO for my team. First turn, KOS-MOS and MOMO use Blood Dancer and Jr. uses safety on MOMO. Second turn, KOS-MOS uses Platinum Stinger, MOMO used another Offensive, and Jr. used Overtaker. Next turn, KOS-MOS and MOMO just destroy him with D-TENERITAS and Fire Bolt III. I saved after that and decided I actually wanted to fight him for real without the buffs, and man was it hard...
@vorpalseraph Nothing can stand in the way of KOS-MOS with Blood Dancer. Nothing. So yeah, if you want a boss battle to be a real challenge don't let her activate it :p

At least this series was able to make 3 parts before it was cancelled. Xenogears only completed one part in it's 6 part series. Really wish I hadn't blown this off when I first tried it. I came in expecting Xenogears 2 back than and hadn't realized it was a spiritual successor and so, it's own series.
Haven´t played the Xenosaga stories yet, only Xenogears. However, I do think they should´ve kept somehow the old combo system from Xenogears imho. Maybe I´m just being sentimental, but it was quite a hookup with the semi-interactive combat system idea there. I guess that lazyness is the problem to why they didn´t go with it P:

@MangaManiac Well I find Xenogears battle system the best to this day. Xenosaga 3 has the most simple one, yet is pretty enjoyable cause you can focus on other stuff. The 2nd saga has the most complicated since there's no formula on how to kill the enemies, you have a particular combination of moves to each character. As in, each one has one weakness but there's no way to tell until you try them out on each enemy, or just have an walkthough with you. It's a pain in any case =p
Ahhh, im going for an undubed version if there is any. I just can't stand english voice overs when I see anime like characters. Game looks amazing though. Kinda sucks I didn't have a ps2 when I was a kid.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to bash on your bubble or say that this game sucks but, the game just doesn't have enough gameplay to really make it stand out when compared to other games. Very slow and repetitive battle scenario, the game only benefits those who are new to RPG games or just went for the game for only the story. Being a Game Designer myself, I've seen many games and this game doesn't stand out.

I did play a crapload of RPGs before i played the Xenosaga series so i dont think im biased at all. im not new to rpg's at all. This will still remain one of my fav games of all times. I dont know what rpg's you like and im pretty curious, but to each his own interests.

where do you buy stat boosts in this game? cause out of 3 games now that i've played i never found stat boosts. i get them throughout the game but never from a shop.

I use codes for just about every PS2 game that I play through codebreaker (so I don't die easily and can beat the game as quickly as possible), but I believe I noticed something about a Debug Room in the code list for one of the xenosaga games?? Has anyone ever USED this xenosaga debug room? At least I think it was a xenosaga code on the code list.

@perfectomega1 You should try to buy it on e-bay or some other site... and if all this is still not enough for you, you could go to Paris for a week end and by it in a video game store (they have tons of games in US or Jap version).

All you have to do is to modify your PS2 (with a lens) in a game store so it can read foreign games (my Ps2 can read JAP,US and EUR games all at the same time AND even burned games). lt's not expansive, the price is about 50 to 60 euros. The guarantee won't be valid anymore though... Watch out, all of this doesn't work on the PS3 system. Have fun ;-)

@Laryen15 It's a couple years old, so anybody who sells it most likely only has it used. You can look in your local game store and if that fails, you could always buy on Ebay or Amazon or something. Just so you know, this IS the third game in the series, so you might want to play at least the first one before you play this one. I see them all the time in game stores (used). Good luck ^^
it looks to me like you wasted a whole lot of time with the buffs and debuffs. i never bother with those. the strength upgrades are a wonderful thing. good thing you can buy them at the end of the game. the reason it only took out 40k instead of the 60k you said was because it was weak to beam when you hit him.
and to whoever was asking, both Heaven's Tracker and Blood Dancer are offensive ethers. there's one ether for defense and one for offense per character, so none of them have both.
ahh this was a great fight after beating it i had fun getting sigma to hit for as high as i can.
to be really cheeky get heavens door, cast offensive, skin down and blood dancer and always CRIT (forgot what the ether was called) ive managed to get it as high as 424,000hp.
Yes I know, when I asked who had Blood Dancer and Heavens Tracker(Aboslute Critical), I was asking who had both, as MpukGunsmith said he used both and i thought he ment on 1 char. I know that no one has Absolute Crit and Blood Dancer at the same time.
Ep 3 is by far the best the three episodes. Fights are fast paced (almost no loads) and easy learn curve (ep 2 had those complicated combos, you had to memo the pattern to pierce each enemies defenses), here you dont have that. Plus it has better graphics, nicer character desigs (not to cartoonish like ep 1 and not to serious like ep 2) and the cut scenes are pure bliss.
And it has all the answers to the plot that you might have had since ep 1.. if you enjoyed the series until now you just have to buy this one, and if you found them flawed this one might suprise you. I dont recomend it if you deslike JRPGS of course.
actually from what ive seen i prefer ep2 battle system in ep3 its too boring and it kinda lost his signature b. system now u r back to " attack" + i find spending boost for s.attack really annoying

Well, for entertainment purposes it's alright... and there is a huge database in X3, so if you have the patience you won't miss much info, but if you're the sort of person who gets clingy and emotional with "art forms", then no, you should play 1 and 2 first.
Yes, his defence gets like 10 times weaker. Some people report that they have killed him with his shields up, i think this is crazy. Even though i think you could do it if with no problems you have overpowered characters like mine, but for level 40 ish characters, its nearly impossible.
I don't believe his defense stats go down, he just becomes weak to all elements.
In some ways, it's actually easier to take him out without his shields since he won't use Kaiser Victory Spark or his master skills with them on, and you get a free turn every time he changes his shield.
In fact, I'd say it's better to avoid breaking all his shields if you're at "normal" strength and you're not going for a Break beat-down strategy.
yea all i know is my attacks start to take a lot of damage after i break his shield, jin move is lighting irrc, so what you re saying makes sense, i never went much deep into strategies i just wante do beat the crap out of him XD

All you have to do is to modify your PS2 (with a lens) in a game store so it can read foreign games (my Ps2 can read JAP,US and EUR games all at the same time AND even burned games). lt's not expansive, the price is about 50 to 60 euros. The guarantee won't be valid anymore though... Watch out, all of this doesn't work on the PS3 system. Have fun ;-)

@Laryen15 It's a couple years old, so anybody who sells it most likely only has it used. You can look in your local game store and if that fails, you could always buy on Ebay or Amazon or something. Just so you know, this IS the third game in the series, so you might want to play at least the first one before you play this one. I see them all the time in game stores (used). Good luck ^^

it looks to me like you wasted a whole lot of time with the buffs and debuffs. i never bother with those. the strength upgrades are a wonderful thing. good thing you can buy them at the end of the game. the reason it only took out 40k instead of the 60k you said was because it was weak to beam when you hit him.
and to whoever was asking, both Heaven's Tracker and Blood Dancer are offensive ethers. there's one ether for defense and one for offense per character, so none of them have both.

ahh this was a great fight after beating it i had fun getting sigma to hit for as high as i can.
to be really cheeky get heavens door, cast offensive, skin down and blood dancer and always CRIT (forgot what the ether was called) ive managed to get it as high as 424,000hp.

Ep 3 is by far the best the three episodes. Fights are fast paced (almost no loads) and easy learn curve (ep 2 had those complicated combos, you had to memo the pattern to pierce each enemies defenses), here you dont have that. Plus it has better graphics, nicer character desigs (not to cartoonish like ep 1 and not to serious like ep 2) and the cut scenes are pure bliss.

And it has all the answers to the plot that you might have had since ep 1.. if you enjoyed the series until now you just have to buy this one, and if you found them flawed this one might suprise you. I dont recomend it if you deslike JRPGS of course.

according to this video description: Max Boost of 9 is recommended (Evangelist necklace [+3 boost] is a rare drop from Azazel/Amaro), but that's optional. A max of 4 will be fine;

Cool vid dude!! I just beat these secret bosses today. Helluva fight but great fun. Now I wish i ahdn't saved after doing it. Problem is having him as a summon makes the rest of the game too damn easy. My Jin is a punk compares to yours though!

Well, for entertainment purposes it's alright... and there is a huge database in X3, so if you have the patience you won't miss much info, but if you're the sort of person who gets clingy and emotional with "art forms", then no, you should play 1 and 2 first.

Yes, his defence gets like 10 times weaker. Some people report that they have killed him with his shields up, i think this is crazy. Even though i think you could do it if with no problems you have overpowered characters like mine, but for level 40 ish characters, its nearly impossible.

I don't believe his defense stats go down, he just becomes weak to all elements.
In some ways, it's actually easier to take him out without his shields since he won't use Kaiser Victory Spark or his master skills with them on, and you get a free turn every time he changes his shield.
In fact, I'd say it's better to avoid breaking all his shields if you're at "normal" strength and you're not going for a Break beat-down strategy.
