No matter how many prisons you escape, no matter how many bars you break, no matter how much noise you make, there will always be one prison you will never break out of.
The prison of your mind.
Neo's journey in the trilogy is to understand that. His journey is to live that.
If you understand this, then you understand that a man sitting in a prison cell who has conquered his own mind is more free than the man who is holding him captive.
Hm... "Meaning" is a very restrictive term. I wouldn't say Neo understands the "meaning" of his life. Rather, I'd say he understands his "purpose".
The universe is like a massive domino set. Everything must fall in a particular order. Neo's journey is simply to realise that he is one falling domino in a massive flood of cosmic continuity that he cannot stop. Therefore, his only chance for peace is to accept it.
i totally agree, it would have been better if they stopped after the first one. but if they had to make the other ones, that zion idea would be way better. i can't even remember what happened in the 2nd and 3rd ones now.
So basically just repeat the first film.
How original.

the first one was philosophy and action mixed, the second and third one were a budget 150 million dollars.

where does Neo free humanity? Humans are still slaves in the end, where do you see freedom?
its just another system, no freedom!

Freedom is a state of mind. It isn't a physical (or metaphysical) location.
That's the point a lot of people miss.

so if you cant move outside your door its freedom??
Its a system of control(no freedom)
:(((

This is the very essence of enlightenment.

That's what he does in last moments of life.
