They're talking about the Nation of Islam. It's not orthodox Islam. Thats why Martin talks about wearing a bow tie. There are a LOT of black american orthodox Muslims, Malcolm X became an orthodox Muslim after leaving the Nation of Islam.

@ladyt2131 Not really most muslims are very soft hearted in fact important leaders known as Imams ( like pastors in christianity) are known to cry while they pray. In islam crying is a sign of having a pure heart. However most african american muslims live by the policy that crying is a sign of weakness as most men do.
