Ibn Taymiyyah was a member of the Sufi Qadiri order.

We need to first figure out what real Sufism is, before we can curse people and an entire path that people often use to get closer to Allah. Sufism = Tazkiyyah, i.e. purification of the self to get closer to Allah.

Imam al-Junayd (one of the greatest scholars of Islam ever and a well-known sufi) was said to never have ever practiced anything in sufism except that it came from the Qur'an and the Sunnah.

It is related to giving Dawah because we actually leave the masjid and go out onto the streets, singing naats and reciting Quran Shareef. We also hand out leaflets and booklets about Islam and deliver public lectures. This is the best way of Dawah. Ibn Taymiyyah wasn't a salafi/wahabi. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Hajar praised him, Imam Suyuti praised, Imam Dhahabi praised him and Ibn Kathir praised him...some have even suggested that he belonged to the Qadiri sufi order
