  • well said akhi

  • @thinker6236 You are correct. I am a Muslim and that's it.

  • I can find part 2.

can someone please upload the rest of this video. Zazak Allah gire

  • sufism is part of traditional Islam and allways has been, please see shaykh Nuh ha mim kellers article entitled: The Place of Tasawwuf in Traditional Islam [google the words and it should come up]

sufism is not synonymous to shirk; yes there are some fools commiting shirk and who call themselves sufi's, but one should not just equate thyat type of shirk with the proper sufism which islam endorses

  • long live sufism

  • noooo, stop destroying islam

  • why would say taht about a sect?

    Long live Islam .

  • /watch?v=K9n7YWV8aI4

  • Ibn Taymiyyah was a member of the Sufi Qadiri order.

We need to first figure out what real Sufism is, before we can curse people and an entire path that people often use to get closer to Allah. Sufism = Tazkiyyah, i.e. purification of the self to get closer to Allah.

Imam al-Junayd (one of the greatest scholars of Islam ever and a well-known sufi) was said to never have ever practiced anything in sufism except that it came from the Qur'an and the Sunnah.

  • lol, i swear the 'mainstream salafi's' have declared bilal philips a 'deviant' aswell,

i guess your somewhere in the middle then. Who are you going to 'warn' people about next, how about going and learning about your religion instead of acting like a doorman to this deen. I bet you dont even know much about sufism and even if you did i bet your sources are wikipedia or summin, lol.

  • Masha Allah,

More great lectures on creed,Tauhid, Shirk, Biddah, Terrorism, extremism, Women rights, Minority rights, Democracy etc in my channel

  • IbnTaymiyya. Hamza Yusuf is a Sufi. I thought all you IbnTaymiyyas followers say that Sufis are apostates.

  • I think He was a Sufi, and he no longer is

  • No you moron, he is a Sufi who detests the wahabi ideology. It really hurts you to know that a scholar from Ahle Sunnah Wal Jammah has made you follow him and you were told lies about the Sunnis by your wahabi imams.

  • You call me a moron? And you think I am a wahabi? LOL

Get your brain checked you hostile lunatic

  • Just shut your mouth and go talk to someone else, I havn't got time for you.

  • What is your problem???

  • What? What do you want to say? If you're not a wahabi, what are you? What do you excpect to gain from this!?!?

  • WHY did you call me a moron for just thinking he was no longer a sufi??? You have serious issues with the way you communicate with others. I am a Muslim who follows the Hanafi madhab...

  • Ohhh, so you follow the school of Deoband.

  • No I am a Muslim (Ahla Sunnah, live in the UK)

  • Do you celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi (Birthday of Rasoolulah SAW)?

  • No I do not, that is wrong. Some Muslims (a small community) who live near us do celebrate but they are a minority.

Our Masjid is diverse Alhumdurillah yet we are all united in our Aqeeda but unfortunately there are those who want to create rifts amongst us.

  • You follow the teachings of Deoband then. That is that, you're an offshoot of wahabi ideology and most Sunni ulema who are neither Deobandi or Brelvi class you as non-Sunni. That's that.

  • What a pathetic lie. The Ahla Sunnah do NOT celebrate the birthday of the prophet.

  • Yes they do you moron, read up history, ask the Ulema, your only incontact with Deobandi Ulema so what the hell do you know.

  • You are the moron if you think its a Islamic concept when it actuality it is NOT.

Deoband is a district in India, I have never travel to India and I have never spoken to a Deobandi graduate....

  • I know what Deoband is you moron! But that is where your offshoot of an aqidah began. You know its true you liar.

  • Are you a Salafi?

  • No I am Sunni

  • I am a Sunni as well!!!!

  • your deobandi man, there's a difference.

  • I am NOT a Deobandi and I know their Aqidah is slightly different however they are still considered Ahla Sunnah.

Its amazing how you can label people in that manner of yours, very shameful.

  • You're Deobandi and you're not considered Ahle Sunnah, go ask some of the top Ulema, don't just talk to me about it or ask your local Deobandi Imam, ask the top Ulema.

  • I am not a Deobandi which is why my Imam himself was giving a lecture about disunity and factions!!

The Deobandi and the barelvi are factions which differ on very small points....I not one of them and have never considered my self to be one of them....In fact I just realised that term two years ago

  • Your belief that Mawlid is Haraam and Bida is wahabi, yet you claim to be of Ahle Sunna, this belief stems from the sect of Deoband. Deobandis also claim that they unite Muslims, but believe that Sunnis commit shirk, yet Sunnis are the majority so infact they're trying to bring people into their way of thinking.

  • WHEN did I say it was Haraam???!! I was eluding the fact that it is an innovation which serves NO purpose that is stipulated in any of the Hadith. You can argue that it is a good Bid's but that is you opinion and to say your opinion qualifies its authenticity is also BS

  • It's not my opinion you moronic little boy, it is what the great Ulema of Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamma have done for centuries. How naive can one person get!?!? An innovation that serves no purpose is haraam you dumb moron, but it serves great purpose, we do dawah, Dhikr, send Durood on Rasoolulah (SAW), get together (unite and make community stronger), give people free food, etc. Now are you going to elude to something else, because you've just been proven a moron?

  • Fist you insist I am a deobandi as if you are Allah who posses ilm without any evidence and now you are COMPLETELY missing my point! When did I say it was Haram? When did I say it was NOT permissible???!!!

If you are such an idiot that you cant read then don't bother humiliating your self.

Mawlid was innovated at a LATER date which WAS NOT in the habit of the companions HOWEVER I don't see anything wrong with it.

The concept is not in the Sunnah, but its a permissible act of showing love

  • You're the moron who said it is wrong! Read through yoru damn posts you moron. Now shut the hell up you moron. You're a typical Najdi, you say stuff-try to wiggle yourself out of it-then totally deny it when you're proven wrong! What a complete idiot.

  • So first name calling which is typical hostile approach and yet now you continue to name call and label. Its any wonder why people like you are easily malleable into thinking anything your Muslim locality does is correct. Research history for YOUR self and it would become evident that NONE of the sahaba ever celebrated the birthday. The beloved prophet himself said not to exaggerate in his worship yet now you jumping and marching on the streets?!

  • "his worship"? Rasoolulah (SAW) did not say that! Rasoolulah (SAW) taught, we should only worship Allah (SWT)! You are very moronic, it is Fardh to do dawah, do you not know what dawah is you moron? Bring Islam to the people, don't hide it in the mosques like a country club. Islam is an open book, it always has been with the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jammah! Your beef with Mawlid is confusing, one minute you say it's good, the next, you make it out to be the biggest evil in the world; along with dawah.

  • What worship??? I said that once by mistake. I meant to say "celebrate"

I know it is fardh to do dawah but you are making no sense at all. All you do is say idiot, stupid and moron LOL

Jumping, marching and shouting on the streets (which I have observed with my own eyes) is NOT a wise way of doing dawah. You converse with people with Hikmaha and good preaching.

I don't see how the celebration the Milad of our Nabi is related to giving Dawah, there are much more effective ways.

  • It is related to giving Dawah because we actually leave the masjid and go out onto the streets, singing naats and reciting Quran Shareef. We also hand out leaflets and booklets about Islam and deliver public lectures. This is the best way of Dawah. Instead of the wahabi'ite method of screaming "die die die" at them, I persoanlly believe this is better, obviously you mith think different because your thick!

  • Do YOU worship your mothers birthday whom you love? Or your OWN birth date? We have made a distinction on these occasions and that is wrong....What purpose is there for celebrating and marching all over the streets when you can simply send darood by dhikr int eh masjid or at homes or in a group???!!

This practise was done by the Shia and only until the 20th century did the Sunni start adopting this.

  • YOu stupid moron I don't worship anyones birthday. Are you deliberately being a total moron or something? Do you know what the hell worship means? Marching all over the streets is showing Muslims united, doing dawah, bringing Islam to the world. What the hell are you talking about? What Rasoolulah (SAW) didn't walk along the streets with his companions smiling, doing dhikr and spreading Islam? Or was that done by the Shia and then adopted by us as well!?!? You moronic person!

  • Bringing dawah does not happen through marching on the streets, it ONLY provokes tension in communities and people who are ignorant tend to refrain further. In a Muslim community it is a productive though.

Mohammed(pbuh) did not celebrate the birth date of Isa Ibn marriam who was the closest prophet before him. I know that for sure lol

  • We talk to people, converse, give out books of knowledge, have bright colours on and smile (Sunnah). We're not like the hard faced Najdis, who just shout and sream about who they want to kill (which they never get round to by the way). Isa (AS) is different and Rasoolulah (SAW) is different. Rasoolulah (SAW) is the best of creation, SubhanAllah!

  • Now YOU are confusing me....

The celebration I HAVE witnessed is very different from what you are describing. My problem has been with the lack of wisdom and how people exaggerate for that one day.

  • mustafa sometimes jews pose as muslims and try to confuse usSo just beware

  • No it doesn't build tension, if doen in the right way, like I said, we're not full of angry young teens like the Najdis, we're full of love and peace. We talk to people instead of screaming anti-white, anti-western, anti-british and anit-everything-they-stand-for slogans ant them.

  • what is a Jajdi?

  • Najdi*

  • Najd is where Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahab came from. This is where the aqidah of wahabiyya came from. This is the same Najd that Rasoolulah (SAW) refused to do dua for and said that the horns of shaytan will rise from there. The horns of shaytaan, meaning fitna and corruption (wahabiyya)!

  • First you think I am a Deobandi, then you think I am wahabi, then you think I am a terrorist supporter who shouts out death to the kafirs, and now you think I am from Najd. Oh not to forget the Ad hominem attacks and the false incliniations.

I feel sorry for you brother. I didnt want such a conflict but it seems people like you are to jahil to realise how to converse with Other people.

  • Hahaha, there you go again, I never said your from Najd you ass. I said that is where you aqida came from. Wahabi and Deobandi is same thing, same aqidah just different name. I feel sorry for you, you have no inteligence just pure brainwashed mentality.

  • Okay JazakAllah for you info on the Abdul Wahab and the Deobandi.

I will check it out and ask my Ulama if he follows them.....

  • And YES the Shia DID practise celebration fot eh Milad of our Nabi (pbuh) whereas the Companion, Tabieen and Tabi Tabieen DID NOT.

  • You don't have a tincy drop of proof for this. And you're a Najdi, so I'll never take your word for anything.

  • No1: I have never marched on the street for violence LOL

No2: EVEN the Wahabi scholars who follow that school of thought have denounced the Terror Attacks. Hamza yusuf himself mentions this

No3: I have never given Takfeer or called anyone a Kafir unless they are Hadith Rejecters (that's the only time I can remember)

You have AGAIN proved my point. You are so childish and heated in your response which is why you have no sense of wisdom when conversing. Brother learn to calm down

  • I am calm, your the one who claims everything I believe in is "BS"!Why are you protecting wahabis? You'r ethe childish one, who contradicts himslef three times in the same sentance, then goes on about how you know better than all the Ulema of Ahle Sunnah. You're very naive young lad who needs to pay more attention to the real world.

  • You can celebrate in a particular manner but there is no such a concept as celebrating his birth date or death date in Islam.... you are innovating praise for a specific date which our prophet never made mention of.

Remembrance and love of the prophet is obviously a good thing. Firday is mentioned in the Hadith.

  • What the hell do you mean "you can celebrate in aparticular manner" but "there is no such concept as celebrating it"!?!? Your Deobandi aqida is flawed, you know great Ulema celebrate it so you can't deny it totally, yet you still go with the flow of wahabis.

  • There is no concept in Islam of worshipping the prophets birthday. You are creating a specific date for the specific salutations of the prophet. Our beloved prophet said Fridays (Jum'a) is a good day to send salutation (durood). I don't mind if you celebrate the day but to say its is PART of Islam is BS

  • Okay moron, no one "worships the Prophet's Birthday", we celebrate it. Now there you go contradicting yourself and making yourself look a fool again, if it is permissable to celebrate it, then why do you say it's not part of Islam, if all we do is send blessings on the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) all day and Praise Allah and his Beloved (SAW). Now all this may make sense to yo in your backwards wahabi mentality, but in reality people will tell you, you're an idiot.

  • oh my!! he well looks like ma uncle! mashallah great lecture

  • type adam deen on you tube for an interesting debate on islam vs christianity.

  • wonderful and sane

  • May Allah bless Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

  • May Alah protect you brother you and your family...

  • Assalaamu'alaikum. Being a Salafi you reject the legitacy of the Imam Shafi'i madhab but you quote him to give weight to your view point? Also you will find quotes from Imam Shaf'i in praise of Sufism and many followers of Imam Shafi'i are Sufis... So I would like to know the context in which that was said.

  • i like him but rijal it was for men not to do with walking or that stuff alah said rijal 9awamoune 3ala ni3aa its clear too sorry pal ahlo makka adra bichi3abiha :)wa laho a3lam

  • he was talking about the root of the word.. not the meaning..

  • manshaallha

  • mashallah

  • Marshallah, a very benefical lect by our shiekh.

  • Love Hamza...

  • I think you need to go back and read the Quran propely.

  • Very nice display of maturity

  • NO, you are wrong. Where the heck did you get this from?

  • Are you freaking kidding me?!? I Do read the Quran and there is nothing in there that allows for slavery. Slavery is oppression and Islam is anti-oppression, I DON'T THINK YOU'VE READ THE QURAN. What would you say then about Prophet Moses (pbuh) setting the slaves free from the Pharoh's grip? Whatever happend in Africa was not done by Muslims, maybe idiots claiming to be so, but not Muslims, period.

  • No it does not!! Wtf is everyone's problem? Non-holy? Why the disrespect? I want to know your sources immediately, list them out, and give me sources that show the articles pertaining to enslavement by Muslims, because I could not find any, so direct me, shell it out

  • Show me your sources, because I could not find any

  • WHATEVER

  • you mother F***er that is not true, u are so ignorant about islam. people like you should spend few hours a day in the library educating themselves about islam and other religions, i wish i will be alive the day Jesus comes back and tells you i don't know you(christians)i am a follower of Gods religion (islam). read and think the words of the Quran. never say what people told you about islam.

  • Oh and by the way half-wit, Arabs and Muslims are two different things. Arab=culture/ethnicity, Muslim=religion

  • calamity

My brother I'm an Arabic Moslem's girl, and I say to you, if you read about Islam , If you just know what Islam is talking about, you wouldn't say this speech, but about us as a Moslem, most of us became very far from the soul of Islam, So i don't blame you about what you find from us, from bad behavior which is forbidden in Islam, so my brother the solution is to back to Islam not to fight.

  • jazak allah keer, great lecture

  • put your arrogance aside, or atleast recognise its existence.

  • The three most important things we can do in our life for Heaven:

repent sincerely, forgive freely, and love unconditionally.

  • I would say Love for the sake of Allah.

  • Want smart education?

Then empower kids to learn how to be entrepreneurs early on in life. Schools should teach the subject, after all these kids are either going to work for a company (profit or non profit) or create their own path by owning businesses. Let's really teach them real life lessons. Why do we still have to follow the industrial age style of education while we are in digital, service- oriented age?

  • allah akbar

  • 1 of the greatest scholar of our time ... thanks a bunch for uploading this video

  • Wonderful lecture. Alhamdullilah.

  • @alexandriacsportsgrl ....

r u get paid to promote these sites....get a life...

  • MashaAllah!

What a great speech and shedding light on so many misconceptions in our community!

Jazakumullahu khairan for posting it, I really feel better equipped for any discussion on the aya " quawwamuna ala nisa" ...

  • A great speech. Syukran. Ibn Taymiyyah was a mujtahid of the Hanbali madhhab. His silsilah goes back to shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jaylani.

  • Hannah - You think god chooses you simply because you choose to follow one of his prophets? Mohammed (PBUH)actually confirmed the previous scriptures. We follow all the noted books not the polluted ideas you follow.Deeds of your nation will dictate what happens to you if you ignored what your leaders have done in your name.

Beside you ignorant rude comment I wish you and family good fortune and hope god forgives you all your sins.

  • Hannah youre not well read.We believe in Jesus.Allah is arabic for the word God!Your good deeds and sins are what dictates what will happen to you on the day of judgement.

  • Seriously guys you guys arguing is what makes the world see us at wackos, the ummah disunited is a disgrace to the prophet saw work. Alhamdulillah for someone like Sheikh Hamza Yusuf who isn't afraid to call us back to original islam. Allah swt doesn't like shirk.

    ma salaama.

  • This is not a "Hamza Yusuf" lecture....

  • yes..it is..:)

  • One of my favorite Hamza Yusuf lecture. May Allah bless him and grant him more knowledge to share with us so that all of us Muslims can become closer to Allah (swt).

  • it touced my heart may allah give every one espacially hamza yusuf what they deserve of their actions. allah u akbar

  • SHALOM JESUS CHRIST IS ALIVE AND SAVES, muhammad or allah can't save you one the day of judgment

  • elhumdulilah

  • it doesnt sound like his voice

  • thanks alot for that

we wish all the world see and hear that

    to learn about our islam

    allah bless all of u

  • ur Id is ibn Taymiyyah and u r uploading hamza yusuf' lecture?? a bit contradiction-lol salafis cant stand him!

  • the more known salafi's like muhammad al sharif dont bash on shaykh hamza, it's only the ignorant "salafi's" that bash on him. the shuyukh are above this mindless bickering... i dont know why the rest of us cant be.

  • Masha'Allah May Allah bless you itsaneesa786

  • Ibn Taymiyyah wasn't a salafi/wahabi. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Hajar praised him, Imam Suyuti praised, Imam Dhahabi praised him and Ibn Kathir praised him...some have even suggested that he belonged to the Qadiri sufi order

  • Ibn Taymiyyah is the grand father of Muhammed Wahhab who is the father of Salafiyya, who are the fathers of Sayyid Qutub, who again is the father of al Qaida !

  • You're wrong faruk. Abd al-Wahhab was indeed an admirer of Ibn Taymiyyah but his teachings were not completely in line with that of the latter. I'm not saying that Ibn Taymiyyah wasn't controversial, but do keep in mind that great Ahlus Sunnah scholars have defended him from the most extreme accusations.

  • It all begins with Ibn Taimiyya, then comes his grandchild student Muhammad al Wahhab, then comes Wahhabiyya and Salafiyya, then comes Sayyid Qutub and now al Qaida. ACTUALLY, THATS ALL THE SAME OUTGROWTH.

  • faruk yea ok , ur either a sufi or a shia...

  • their defense is that he made "tawbah" before his death lool

his doctrine dimetrically opposes the sunni aqeedah

  • Incredible... I love this lecture! So inspiring.

  • thank you for sharing!

  • Jazaka Allah Kheir... this is the first video of Sheik Hamza Yusuf, and I love it.

  • the first that i watched

  • masha'Allah
