Not sure if I agree with you. Maybe "Tuesday Afternoon". High Llamas are much more advanced musician's. They write clever melodic lines and excellent rhythmic patterns...Moody Blues aren't nearly as talented. Barf
@vortexion These guys are too Brian Wilson-lite to be in the league of classics like the Moodies, who at least had their own sound (and a sense of dynamics, yeesh). I suppose they are a bit too sincere for a lot of people these days though.
@vortexion Listen to the live version or the album version of 'Are you sitting comfortably' by The Moody Blues. Not a massive Moody Blues fan myself and I love the High Llamas but nobody can touch that song.
i have just discovered my new favourite band.i have never heard of them until 30 mins ago.i am now hooked....prefab sprout/brian wilson/belle and sebastian ffing beautiful.thanks ..i only discovered them cos i wanted to hear a frank mr shank cover.btw t h l version is so much better.cheers..barry eaton
Just listen to Stereolab. Then Francoise Hardy, the Beatles (pre-1967) and the Beach Boys. Also Tortoise...but they do get into a Minimalsit thing which I love but some don't like.
Thanks for posting this. I always thought this was an amazingly beautiful song up there with the best of Lennon-McCartney and Brian Wilson. I mean, if you listen it's Tom Ze-Steely Dan-Stereolab in pop music perfection.

What helps it sound "Stereolabish" actually...is that Mary Hansen is singing with Sean on here. Miss her.... : (

i would say more "wild honey" and "friends" era beach boys, and also the aluminum group were the only other major bands i could think of.
