Pardon me, but you made a french braid, unlike Katniss's, which is more of a Dutch braid. Katniss's sticks out. All you have to do is put the hair strands under instead of over when you are making the braid.

this is cute but in the picture Katniss's braid was a Dutch braid so the braids popped outwards whereas your French braid, the braids go in. :)

I do a different version of this braid whenever I have a bad hair day. I have curly hair in layers, so I love the way it turns out. I think Katniss's braid is a Dutch braid, which is how I always do my braids. Its the same technique, but instead of braiding the pieces of hair OVER, braid the hair UNDER which creates the "braid bump" on top. As a curly haired girl w/layers, I think it's best because it'll have that slightly messy effect to it & the layers will be loose enough to fall & look good.

@PiZZaGEEk7 yea I was pretty sure it was cause that's the way I've always done my "french" braid in the Dutch version. I did the braid this morning after I showered and I feel that it came out nice, with a tiny curl on the side. But I feel it works better if you braid the hair after it's dry.

I just finished the first book two days ago. It's the best book EVER! It feels so realistic. My other used to be favourite books were The Mortal Instruments and I think The Hunger Games has even trumped that. Peeta's so awesome, I feel like I know the characters. I'm sort of unsure about there being a movie, but I'm glad that Josh Hutcherson is playing Peeta, he's perfect for him. :D I always imagine Peeta brunette though, since I guess, Josh is.
