I just got an Ibanez RG350DX and I think it uses the Tremolo system as well.

When I tune my guitar and it goes out of tune, I tighten the screws on the place where I strum right? What happens if they're tightened all the way and the guitar untunes itself?

Do I start this process over again or what?

@ShadyStories Ah! I got a RG170DX just to avoid having to deal with a Floyd Rose. Sadly, though, now I wanted a piezo on my bridge and I can only find it in a Floyd Rose bridge. I did not purchase it YET so im not really an authority on tuning them but it sounds like you should wind the fine tune down, turn the rough tuners up, and THEN finetune it when they arent tightened all the way but somewhat in the middle. Again, this is only from observing Floyd Roses and im sure someone can answer beter

actully you should avoid using the fine turners as much as you can best to unlock and tune up that way for any tuneing that isnt small

@soullessSiIence 1st - restringing the guitar with floyd is very easy it only takes time - 2nd - why dont us try to use guitars with a better floyd than your cheap one and then ask yourself about detuning it - better try the floys of an ibanez and then ill take your opinion (no offence) :)) happy searching :D

If you want a great metal guitar get a shecter Hellraise ^^. IMO Shecter makes the best metal guitars. Of course there is dean, Ibanez, esp. But I love shecters!!! You can never go wrong with Shecter :).

weelll. i played a schecter she-devil on a vox 150 watt tube amp at gc, and it was worse than my b.c. rich avenged son of beast. and i don't really like the sound of most schecters mainly cuz they sound too modern for me i'm lookin for that old school thrash sound, and that means b.c rich, esp, and jackson.

i know how to tune a regular guitar but with a floyd rose system installed it makes it very hard because all tensions of the strings have to be equal

Ok... im not to sure if this is the proper way to do it but i read somwhere that if you tune in the following way it goes into tune quicker...

6th String

1st String

2nd String

5th String

Keep doing that until all of them are in tune and not going out of tune.

Then do the fourth and fifth strings

just keep repeating that.

dunno if it will help but its what i do.

oh and yeah use an electronic tuner.

Im shure that you have a tuner so my advice is to STRETCH your new strings!!

After you put them all on just go wild and stretch the shit out of them. Do some really wild bends,then actually pick up the string with your right hand and pull it all diferrent ways. Now after this is done to all strings RETUNE!! The key is retune. Then stretch them again just like I said. Then retune again. After about 3 or 4 times your guitar will actually stay in tune with out even locking the nut. Check my vids.

you need to adjust the tension screws in the back cavity of the guitar...you might be using gauge strings that wasn't originally set up for your guitar

thats the same with me what i do is i just lossen the spring (this takes a while to get it done good) until i can have my guitar in tune without haveing a wierd tension on the brige

you shouldn't just string up the guitar and then use the fine tuner. You need to tune it the normal way dozens of times to get the strings loosened and then fine tune the shit.

when the bridge is flush with the body and its all tuned up and ready to play, can you just unskrew the locking nuts on the neck and for example tune to drop b and then just tighten the locking nuts and your done????

the washburns floyds are junk. if ya want a real floyd then get a kramer striker. the only issue with those is its more difficult to re-string it. and you have to loosen the trem locks in order to tune the guitar.

I have a Jackson with a Floyd Rose with 10 gauge strings on it that tends to go out of tune more frequently than with 9 gauge strings. I'm running out of room on my fine tuning section of the guitar and was wondering if is it possible to unlock the guitar, retune it from the top, readjust the fine tuning to allow for more room and relock it without breaking the strings or doing any damage to the guitar?

well yea thats how u tune a floyd. loosen the nuts, unscrew your fine tuners a bit so u have more space to tighten them if ur strings go flat. then (with ur nut loosened) tune the strings with the tuning pegs. finally, tighten ur nuts (lol) back and fine tune your baby. dive bomb away!

yea. make sure the floyd is flush and settled with the body. Not going too far into the body, but not too far out. =]
