ever played drums........ON WEED? hey whats up buddy{rich}. i got that job. these ARE some silly comments. now since i got that job i can keep my drums. im still gonna hit a town b4 i leave. laters..maggotpuke.
Attention Drummers/musicians!!! Get the book "realistic rock" by Carmine Appice!! If you like 60's-70's rock drumming it's the Bible. It turned my hopeless brother into a real rock guy. He would work on it every day and half way through the book and after learning the first Zeppelin record beat for beat he would go back to the jams and sound exactly like Simon Kirk of Free and Bad Company...with bonham fills to boot. It could save rock drumming im serious. Amazon.com
@ZildjianL4D2 - thanks! I made this video to illustrate the sound of the kit for a guy who I sold it to in Monterrey Mexico - didn't expect it'd have so many views & comments. I typically play a 3 or 4 piece kit, 20-22" bass, typical set up, but really tight, & don't cross over on the snare/hi-hat. With this bass I couldn't get the hat in close enough, so moved the rack tom to the right side. Whatever works, right! It's really funny all the arguing about grip. Do whatever is comfortable!! :)
@madmardigon24 i use to have my kit set up like that but due to space i had to move my tom to its regular spot. =( but i still have the floor toms on both sides of me and since im left handed, i keep my ride to the left of me =)
@Jimmy1tooth There is no "best" grip. It's whatever you feel like playing. Rock can't really be played with traditional grip. And jazz is better with traditional. I personally play matched for most stuff because thats how I learned. Get over your biased self, please.
@Jimmy1tooth No, I understand what you're saying. I watched that bit. You're trying to say that with traditional he couldn't play that lick. But you're wrong because with practice, you can do pretty much anything.
@FighterOfFoo284 the only drummers that needed to use the tradition grip were the drummers in the civil war.drummers that use tradition grip like ian paice even say there is no need for the grip.most drummers use it for looks
@Jimmy1tooth Note that I never said that you need traditional for anything. I said its whatever you feel like using. Traditional is the tradition, hence the name. Some people like to keep the history of it alive by using it in Jazz and other music like that.
Hey man I love the set. I want to upgrade to it. Out of curiosity what high hats are you using, I'm in the market for some and I like how those sounded with the snare.
I normally play on small jazz kits, & don't cross over the snare/hi-hat so I play however is comfortable. I sold this kit, but it was a lot of fun while I had it...

Why do I always think drums sound so much better when they are recorded really crappy with an open mic?
audiotrax2000 5 months ago
@audiotrax2000 probably because the sound is more organic & not some studio reproduction of a tone.

Evite de te pencher en avant comme tu le fait. C'est pas très esthétique et tu dos souffrira. Sinon tu joue bien

@5150igor - Having trouble translating. My portugese is no good.
madmardigon24 11 months ago
@madmardigon24 its called google translate.
roybose 10 months ago
@roybose yeah, not saying I didn't translate it already, just doesn't translate very well.
"timbre will be horrible or acoustic treatment of the environment:?"
- explain that to me.
madmardigon24 10 months ago 6
@madmardigon24 - maybe it translates to "are the tone of the drums horrible, or is it the environment?"
madmardigon24 10 months ago
why do you have your tom on the left?
mrozzy1231 11 months ago
@mrozzy1231 That's just how some people play, dave grohl has a similar setup when he plays drums nowadays, neil peart also has similar

that bass drum is a 24", bonham used always a 26", so that's not a zep kit
LucaCava94 11 months ago
@LucaCava94 - bass drum was a 26", couldn't remember when asked earlier, & sold the kit about a week after posting the video, but checked my records.
madmardigon24 11 months ago
@LucaCava94 thats definitely a 26".

@gamafon - 24" bass, unsure of rack tom - 12 or 13"?, 16 & 18" floor toms. it was a zep kit reproduction or something.
