  • No, this is not break-neck speed, but a good, lively speed - a little faster than the indicated crotchet = 72. The problem is that we only hear the introductory section. If that is all he plays at weddings then the bridal couple will indeed have to make a quick sprint down the aisle, especially if the guests are to follow out before the music finishes!

  • Ah yes. one of the few pieces Anthony Newman actually plays well. This is from a CD called "The Wedding Album" recorded on the great Aeolian-Skinner at St. Thomas' Church, Fifth Avenue in New York City. Everything on this disc is played at break-neck speed. I guess Mr. Newman is a very busy man and can't spare much time at recording sessions. This is a must have for those brides who wish to sprint down the aisle and make a mad dash out when it's over
