I've been a Metallica fan for 20 years and it's gotten to the point where James doesn't have it in his voice anymore. I'm glad they still wanna play, but his voice doesn't have any grunt to it. When I listen to 'Sad But True' on their album and then suddenly it's almost twice as fast somewhere else, such as live, it just doesn't have the same effect.

They can do whatever they want with it, sure, but it doesn't mean it always has a positive effect.

I'm a fan and even I say I don't like the way they mostly play live.
