@jdowney429 That's because an independent business bought the Circuit City name, and it only operates today as an online-only business. Same thing with defunct stores Hollywood Video, Service Merchandise, and Montgomery Ward as well.
CompUSA interestingly has started opening a limited number of stores again, after being an online-only business initially after bankruptcy. Though it's nowhere near as many stores as the original CompUSA chain had.
hahaha. most of the products in circuit city are already overpriced, than the mark up the prices... even with the discount your still getting your ass ripped off. what a joke, and dumbasses actually belive this crap
this is sad...even this ad is kinda weird, it's like celebration for some people.. but it's actually pretty sad cuz a lot of people are gonna lose their jobs.. my God :(
It's Circuit City employees losing their jobs so actually, it a very good thing. I was shopping once at a Circuit City store and a CC employee on a cell phone bumped into me. No apology at all. I spoke to her manager and he rolled his eyes at me. Needless to say, I never went back to CC.
What you, and the general public do not understand about liquidation sales is that you're NOT getting a deal. Liquidators mark products up, then mark them down. They don't care if stuff is cheaper at BB et all because they know someone is going to buy that product eventually.
Actually, sir BB is the most overpriced electronics store i know of. Good Riddance to circuit city (even though they were one of my clients) id never shop there. Or BB F..k them both taking advantage of consumer ignorance to make a profit. With that said, I want to say they died because they failed to anticipate the ever expanding intelligence of the consumer and kept their stores full of irrelevant items in the new information age.(Not carrying items as basic as a computer power supply) bye
I agree with you windowsvista1850. it's like when CC is closed they just move on tot he next store and do the same thing and leave the employees in the dust.
Well first off, their website is still intact, they've never mentioned anything about going out of business at all. And there's one FYE that actually closed near my shopping plaza however there's still one in one of the malls I live near by.
@cmpunk185 dude your a fag read the Business section sometime its funny that Wal-Mart grossed more quarterly earnings in 2008 then the previous 2 years, recession or not Wal-Mart will never go out of business
Jesus sublime craig I only said walmart was going out of business as a joke, I was responding to a made comment that jokingly said all these other businesses are going out of business.
Alright man your cool!!! lol you cant say bad things about my Wal-Mart Sam Walton is like a son to me!!!!! But in reality I do wish that was true they pay their employees shit and kill black babys in the back-room, I have seen this shit..............
March 31st the latest or untii there is no more items available!! Right now is the not the time to buy anything there prices were raised though they were to able to fool lots of people but not me im waiting until the end of this month.
Thats not all the stores they have over 700 stores all the stores in CT are going but the other will still be there i should know i used to work there.

They seem happy about it. I used to work with some of the Virginia-based employees when Circuit City went bankrupt. Those were not happy faces.

So you use one as a justification for an opinion about 30K people losing jobs? Really now.
Ya know, I hope you never lose your job due to your company going bust.

I don't think CC knows they're going out of business just about everything that should be on sale is still cheaper at Best Buy and on Amazon *com

The greedy liquidators mark all the prices up to their MSRP before adding the discounts, so the stuff was actually a lot cheaper before the "sale".
RKY06 3 years ago
20% to 40% sales at all circuit citys. Mainly 20% sales though. 25% Plasmas and 40% car electronics. as of 2/6/09
