Classic the cyclist riding with the mobile stuck to their ear. I wonder how they manage it with the wind rushing by though. How does the party on the other end understand them ?
LOL thats nothing. A couple of months back I followed a young woman with a kiddy chair on her bike out of the work grounds. She had her mobile out and was trying to ride downhill onehanded on a 35 degree gradient.
I bet they're th first to moan about drivers doing it!
lol thanks, was mainly just testing it out today, trying to get the angle right etc. That old thing was a nightmare, clunky and heavy to use. The new one, is fiddly, but much better quality. got it attached to a DV cam. New bike too. cheers
pfffft, that's nothing I saw a woman with a young kid in the kiddy chair while she was on the phone, riding one handed in the middle of town, I wish I'd got the video camera out, why would a mum do that?
lol i know its nothing, like i say, just testing out new kit. Got my old sony mini DV cam and a pin hole camera attached to the helmet. Wide angle lense. Not sure what it will be like when it gest dusky. Wont be too good in the rain, will need to modify.
Pinhole camera, those little spy ones? Which one did you get? I did wonder if those Angel eye dv+cameras were any good. Less obvious sticking those on your helmet/ hat/ shades?
yeah its small as hell, real spy like. It did need its own circuit board, so its a bit bigger, but not too much. Got it tapped to the front, gives a great wide angle, with not too much image distortion. Friend made it, it also needs its own power supply, so the weight and bulk adds up somewhat compared to the ATCK thingy. How about you?
ooooh, thats clever, does it just plug in to av-in? Can you show us a video of it? Will he make it for other people at reasonable cost? (I'll buy him a pint or two :-)
I'm using the aiptek sporty cam (bullet cam and 4 in one media player type thing, which isn't bad but it's not wide angle & being fixed by them under warranty after 4 months!)

no idea. Madness as the roads around there are so bad, you need 2 hands to hold on for dear life!

Legally cyclists can use their phones when they ride...doesn't make it a clever thing to do though :P

especially if they go through red lights :)

That's nice quality footage.
I wish I could put a time / date stamp on my vids like some of you guys can. hey ho.

thanks. Mate made the camera house for the lense and got that wire going back to a DV camera in bag. Heavy, but yeah dam good quality thanks.
I just use Final Cut Pro to edit the stuff. Put time stamps, zooms, slow mo etc. :)

Jon.. you should be able to date stamp. I thought it was one of the features of the 1.5 you use..?

Have you tried the pinhole camera in low light?
MelloVEL0 2 years ago
yes, but its a big tricky, not the easiest thing to do, but it works :) ahha, well i can always ask.
ooo well yours looks pretty cool too, and simular in way, external recorder, and camera you plug in. Looks a bit better then mine, and easier too.
Used it not on the bike, but before in low light, its ok, a bit misty.

Mums don't have to have a licence. Some of them ought to. Some of the worst drivers I have seen are parents.
