I was raised by my father, with a weird, absentee mother, and I played with a giant giraffe from a family of chainsmokers, and... Well I turned out as an asexual ftm.
It creeps me out how much his life emulates mine... I played with dolls, I had a friend I played dress up with, I loved songs which are now "gay anthems".... but the thing is, I wanted to. My older brothers would never (too busy with sports and trouble), but I loved playing dress up and listening to spice girls. I had a choice on what I did, but I didn't have a choice on what I wanted to do- if that makes sense. I did it *because* I was gay, I suppose... it did't make me gay.
when was younger, my fav colours were pink and black, i played with barbies, ripped their heads off and and played with toy fire trucks. what does that make me??
I think John is a great man, good singer/actor/entertainer with a great personality also he is gorgeous. But what I am very upset is the fact that his father put a bikini on him aged 10 beauty pageant and to explains everything he said “ We needed the money ”. See how John puts the card with # 5 on front. To me that body language means he felt uncomfortable. My grandson is 10 years and I will never put him thru that EMBARRASSMENT. John I love you deserve the best
When I Was Little I Played With Trucks , Most Of My friends Were Guys And I Grow Up With Out A Mum. It Was Just Me, My Older Brother, And Dad But Im Not A Lesbian.
First question asked, aside health of mum and babe after birth: is it a boy or girl? Studies have shown, when presented with a baby, regardless of the true gender, but told it was either a boy or a girl, they are treated differently - way they're held, talked to and played with.
We're conjecturing here, building the hypothesis, but it's flawed. We've not truly defined what gender specific play is.Oh yes, we all know boys are expected to be boistrous, play with trucks and bust up stuff and girls play more cooperatively, nurture dolls and enjoy tea sets. And our society emphasise and enforces these expectations. Many a "tom boy" or sensitive boy still were heterosexual. And those who conformed to societal norms of play were still gay.
Well, I used to play with a fort and little soldiers when I was a girl. And I hated dolls, especially Barbie dolls, but generally all kinds of dolls. But I'm not lesbian, I'm bisexual. I don't think you can generalize as far as your interests as a child are concerned, can you?
8:10 I recognise the vid of the little girl and her growed up from another similar documnetary on youtube. The twins in this docu are also in that one. lol
My oldest and best friend is gay, and we use to play dolls and stuffed animals every time he came over! He will always be the same to me no matter what! it should not matter!
I am a girl and i use to play with toy car and use to run around in the mud with my brother and the two boys across the road. does that make me a lesbian?
hehehe, john is so uniquely multi-cultural! And its interesting that ppl point to girl-like behaviour like dolls etc. as a cause when it can just as likely be an effect, an illustration of the sexuality he was born with, i.e. He's gay so he played with dolls instead of he played with dolls so he's gay. Great series!
