The M1917 Enfield rifle used by Sergeant Alvin York on October 8, 1918, during the event that would see him awarded the Medal of Honor, is currently located at Middle Tennessee State University.[3] According to his diary, Sergeant York also used a .45 Colt automatic pistol on that day.[4][5] (The film Sergeant York starring Gary Cooper in the title role, had York using an M1903 Springfield rifle and a German Luger pistol.)
just curious if you have any others do to the rarity. I'm on the board of a rr /transportation museum that we would love to display this type of film footage since the depot and yatd were built around that time. Please look up Albuquerque whee;s museum for some great shots. Thanks again!
First manufactured under contract for the british army and then rechambered in 30.06 for American military service.
I used to own one and they are accurate as hell if a bit heaver then a springfield. "I've had both, springfield and remington enfield and the remington is a better rifle all around.
Show me where Corporal Alvin York used a US Model 1917 for his MOH exploits.

this is great, thank you. researching my grandfather in the 83rd during WWII brought this up on page 2. Nothing to do with my research, but hey.
