some of ya'll have been paying way too much attention to the movie irobot. That was based on a prediction to the end of the world it's not fact. If they made something that had an almost exact human personality then i think it might actually be less likely for them to attack. You could just erase the memory of their creation and tell them they have an artificial heart so they wouldn't get suspicious might actually think they're humans.

The one problem I see with human interaction with a robot is for the hearing impared who have to read lips...these robots might be incredibly life like but their facial expressions are not fully replicating humans yet. Still incredibly lifelike

The question of their humanity will not arise, that's for certain. But, I think that such androids and other robots will be put to use in hospitals and other places where people are, well, crippled or disabled. As I mentioned, it is sad that science is undermined by pop-culture... hopefully, such action will not cease the development of new technology.

I think most of us are just worried what those with the wrong motives will do with newly developed technology. Some of the most best technology can get abused and used against people as a weapon. It could start from what you mentioned to people becoming completely dependent on them as we already are with our current technology. I wouldn't mind robots if they help us serve our purpose, which right now technology is doing quite the opposite.

Very true indeed. In agreement to the comment about the dependency factor of new tech., look at the internet and computers, not that they are bad, but they govern the lives of people. The media uses world-wide communication to its advantage and companies gain millions from what should be provided free of charge. In order to achieve that, though, some kind of policy should be executed on a global scale. Like you said alluded to, technology is dangerous in the wrong hands.
