so people actually believe this man's bullshit? obama isn't even black, he was raised by a white wealthy family and grew up privilieged and somehow thinks that he has the qualifications to chastise black people. btw, black women (and women in general) are half of the problem because they are having kids out of wedlock and having multiple fathers. obama tryin to pretend like he knows what the deal is....shit cracks me up!!!!
really, how about the "Root"actually being that a centuries-long history of racism & discrimination has undermined the role&influence of millions of Black men to obtain a quality education & competitive jobs I understand where Pres.Obama is coming from though-he is clearly upset about his OWN father abandoning him.It is hard to understand though how his abandonment somehow translates into the problem being mainly a black{men} community one (which is patently untrue).Where are the JOBS4 black men
America is not the richest country in the world. It ranks 8th in per capita income. Hate the wealthy? Give to the less fortunate? "Even the playing field" ? Others are:
Brazil $8,135
Venezuela $11,444
India $1,054
China $3,212
Norway $72,300
Luxembourg $88,000
USA $45,835
To even the playing field, we must "de-develop the rich countries" , redistribute the wealth globally (take your income). How does socialism look to you now? I don't think black Americans are going to get anything from Obama.
ATTENTION NIGGERS, SPADES, COONS, PORCH-MONKEYS, SPOOKS: Niggers are the scum of the earth, useless to society and themselves and cursed by God (curse of Ham). The world would be a better place without this sub-human slave-race (less disease, criminals, laziness, stupidity and racism)
P.S. YOU ALL LOOK LIKE THE SHIT THAT COMES OUT OF MY ASS AND I WANT TO USE YOU ALL AS TOILET PAPER.LOL!
My father was in the home but I barely saw his face.
He was either working or working.
Sometimes work gets in the way of raising your children. Is my father a deadbeat? NO, but he wasn't there for me in anything I done or accomplished. So my question is, you want a man who is determined and focused but in order to be focused on a career the family has to be put on a back burner.
You either want us to take lead or sit back LET US KNOW WOMEN!
I respect Obama for having the balls to tell the truth like it is... when will black folks finally learn how to be civilize and take responsibility for their own actions?
I agree fully with your statement, but try not to be too generalizing. There are some black fathers out there who do have an authentic love and concern for their children - who would gladly give everything they had, including their lives, to do what's right and what's best for their kids. They may not be large in number, but they're out there.
Me and one of my college friends had a debate about who needs fathers more? Girls or boys? What do you all think. I think it's equal. I think boys and girls need fathers.
You are not a man just because you can make a baby. Males who fail to support and parent the children they produced are directly responsible for the rising death rate of Black youth in the Black community. They are not men, but boys. Boys make babies and walk off; men stick around during adversity, and demonstrate their conviction to raise responsible men and women. Producing children does not make you a man or a women, parenting children and being responsible parents does.
OMG have you and my dad been talking???? I'm not kidding when I say he said the same thing last night while we were on the phone. That's just so crazy how you and him think alike.
....Obama is just an apologist for the system ...A fucking system bent on keeping the poor poorer and the rich richer...I am so sick and tired of Blacks like you who keep blaming Black folks for their problems. There are always going to be poor Blacks and well to do ones...Since I will never be able to walk in all their shoes,I think the safest thing to do is to not speak ill of someone I may not know anything about...
How come this apologist for the white oppressive system is too stupid to understand that the same Black men he is criticizing are locked up in the same jails built just for them.Obama sucks and does not deserve any Black man's vote.I wish Jessee would have cut his balls off.
A vast majority of said black fathers are being jailed for drug use. It's because of this law that was somehow supposed to protect the Black Community from these gang-banging dope smoking people, and yet it's caused over 50 percent of our black male population to be locked in the slammer. In short, the black uses get the boot while the white dealers get off scott free.
The senator may be pro-choice, but he also supports legislation and programs that will educate people, particularly teens, in ways that help to women from having to be put in such a predicament, such as sex ed programs that are centered on a little something called "abstinence". It's where you decide to NOT have sex in teh first place. Plus, that pro-choice stance can be a literal lifesaver for rape victims, incest victims, and for those who will die if they give birth.
Other part of America should listen to Tom Joyner Show - They are "Real fathers - Real Men" out there; many brothers out there that has families and will sacrifice their world for their family. The have been responsible way before Obama NAACP speech.
And that's the point of it all. Senator Obama is simply calling out to the Black Community to man up and take care of their kids. It's not like he condemned them all to hell, people. Grow up!
In 8 years we have witness towers fall to the ground, soaring gas price's,death, contaminated meat's and war!?.."Wakeup"!...what trance are you in?..eulogizing out dated concepts will give us all 8 year's of hell, and yes we could all do more or Less of every thing!?
I think everyone's complaining about this speech because they're mad that obama is merely telling the truth. He's not painting a pretty picture, he's trying to wake us up! We need to get up off our asses and stop blaming the government because there are opportunities out there for us. It may be harder for us, but it can be done! I think so, and I think all those people in that church with obama think so. Let's have hope! That's all Obama's trying to say.
Yeah that's why he's being criticized because the truth does hurt. My parents are still happily married to this day and he used to always say to me. No matter what happens between me and your mother you and your sister will always have me until the day I die. I'm very lucky to have my dad.
As a wealthy white man, I can say with certainty that black men are the most institutionally beaten down demographic group in the USA.
So of course, they need to do more.
How ridiculous!
The black family was fine and intact before the liberal welfare programs practically pulled them apart. Now black men, the most underemployed group, are supposed to become willing checkbooks for children they have no legal ability to raise and are allowed only minimum contact with.
its funny, but when Farrakhan in The Million Man March and through out his leadership said the same things Obama is saying here, white america couldnt bring themselves to agree with him. You piled on the bullshit media slogan of not confusing the message with the messenger and berated the real numbers of the people who turned out to affirm themselves on that historic day, then you assholes came up with that sad assed imitation copy cat movement called The Promise Keepers. you hypocrits
but because of al gore's heroic efforts 8 years ago...my vote stands...hes got the right man behind him...gore did not quit, contrary to rumor...he stuck his neck out for us!
"hiphop, "rappers? how can I defend my self when the playing field is being tampered with...if hes so wise in his words why alter my comments...I said "love"...respect is a derrivative of...fear...that is why our children shoot up schools,no love at home put lots of "respect"..."judge me not...
JTW1113, no man ought to be respected merely for being that. . . Surely you should understand that as a party to the creation of a child any man assumes the vital role of parent. Neglecting this role,as is evident in most black communities is truelly the moral equivalent of a Hit n Run. You cnnot but agree with Obama.
So many young hip-hop rappers glorify sexing women. Obama stated any fool can make a baby! But it takes a real man to raise a child, to love a child, to be there for a child.
time passes but the "bighouse still exist!?your standing in the house supposably built for...my father, along with those "blackwomen"behind you applauing deceptive jugdement...
how many "black wemon" respect the man thay have at home if hes not making j-z money or wearing a siut like the one that adorns you...you had my vote befor today...there are a lot of issues to deal with...this was the least...
And he has a valid point. I just looked at a poll that states that of the just-over-20% of children who are raised with only one parent in this country (the mother), only 24% of those children were white. However, a vast majority of black children (65% to be exact) are raised without their fathers. A majority of white people have their family situations under control. However, it's the black community who has neglected their children.
That's why he addressed Black Fathers more than anyone.
The hope in the message of this speech is nothing short of the words of The Honorable Louis Farrakhan, and Jerimiah Wright, two men that Obama fed to you white wolves in order to appease your racist appetite. He has the audacity to feel hes qualified to stand and chastise blacks people. my problem with Obama is that hes a hypocrit but despite his hypocracy I'm voting for him anyway just to piss in racist white america's face. I survived 8 yrs. of Bush I can survive however many yrs. of Obama.
parable this a"black father" who goes to work every single day takes good care of his family...yet the black woman at home constantly ridicules him...to his kids...about issues thay wont and cant under stand until their adults, but as kids thier forced to see their father's stuggles through the eyes of a..."blakwoman" because...it's "mom" now this "black father" is alone living in a house with people he loves but receives no love in return...
