Ive got the real one its is awesome this is defintley a fake mine was from the pokemon centre and we won it the prize draw but we still had to pay for it the real box is more of a square with a large pikachu on the front

@qwertlolo Yes, you can clearly tell by the box. Someone on showed the differences between the real box and the fake. The real box is more of a square shape and it has a white color all around. So the side with the three pikachus would be yellow it would be white and the bottom would also be white not black. I this was the real japanese version it would look like that this is probally a hong kong ripe off. You can google how the actual box looks if you want.

The Chinese Dragon DS is an easy one to spot because it shouldn't say Nintendo anywhere on it or on the startup screen because the Chinese Dragon version was made by a company called IQue, and not Nintendo. Ebay is full of those fakes.

Sorry, but this is defintely fake - if you look to the right, a video by iRidr shows what the real box should look like.

I'm sorry to tell you this but this is not the Japanese one. The Japanese one comes in a big square box and the one you have is in a rectangular box. You probably have the version that came out in the US. Weird 2nd plug. It is still pretty cool and a lot cheaper than buying the japanese version off ebay or something. When you started up the DS was it in Japanese or English? And what language was the papers and manual inside the box? Also, have you tried registering it on the Nintendo website?

It doesn't have the pokemon center box... or the proper pikachu logo. The original has more detail.. and it's not a bright sticker-looking thing, its a kind of subtle laser engraving that looks like it's hovering [you can see the shadow it casts on the DS]

Fake DS also have an Nintendo seal of quality on them. If your talking about a sticker seal, Japanese DS do NOT have a sticker seal on them (Except the Love & Berry Edition)
