  • Is the ps1 version of this any good?

  • @youssef11223344 its the same as the SNES version. The best version however is the GBA version as it has a better translation and bonus features!

  • fuck 7, fuck 10, THIS GAME was my fav Final Fantasy, and FF4 is second to it :3

  • sabin ftw....!!! so much fun

  • shut up bitch, the snes version is best

  • I agree with you regarding the games making all characters being the same aren't great, but I think there's some caveats. In 4 people aren't the same but you don't get to choose your party. In 5 you develop your chars along archetypes, so it's not like in 7 or 8 where you flip a switch and any character can morph into anything else. And in 10 everyone will eventually be the same, but for a straightforward run they are relatively separate. 12 fixed this problem with the intl edition

  • Correction.....You can only make everybody the same in FFX Toward the end of the game when you have pretty much killed off every boss

  • @numbah82 thats simply not true... you can literally make everyone have the same abilites (and all abilities for that matter) in 7,8,10, and 12

  • @gakiyarou Im startin to doubt you have even played it because for example: Tidus has to complete his part of the sphere grid before moving on to anyone elses and by the time that happens you're at Seymour Omnis which is the second to last boss of the game, Hence playing the through the story with everyone having seperate abilities

  • @numbah82 thats just not true man, you can complete the entire sphere grid easily... and what does it matter how far you are into the game? In fact, you HAVE to complete the entire sphere grid with all the characters if you have any hope of defeating all the optional bosses. Sounds to me like you just rushed through the story and didn't do any of the side stuff.

  • hmmmm maybe i'm into that music!

  • and the music is great I disagree about that!

  • @motherearthrpg what would you prefer radio disney? For its time the music was awesome.

  • the Japanese version it says there skill or job like Terra/Tina is a magical warrior!

  • the opening reminds me of super castlevania 4. is that stupid?

  • @10zaq10returns i dunno i never played that game

  • What's better? This version or Final Fantasy VI with an English translation patch?

  • @psx2514 i would go with this version since its translation is official, and it has other gameplay improvements over the original SNES title

  • @gakiyarou Yeah, I decided to play this version. I tried to patch it to fix the Evade bug as well as some minor spelling, grammar, and item description errors, but it won't work.

  • hey man,you used Locke to mug ultros, only in ff could you steal dried meat from a giant octopus in a river, lol

  • @sickspastic I hope after 8 months (the last time you commented) you don't still think that a person has to be "one of the lucky few" to enjoy life.

P.S. I've got no beef with escaping life with video games.

  • Playstation72 Here's hoping it gets a remake on the 3DS or something like III and IV got.

  • @gakiyarou I'm confused. Why does it say you added this video today, yet you have comments that show they are three months old?? Just curious.

  • @0909apa Where did you find it?

  • Someone made a fan translation to the Snes version that gives the most accurate translation.

  • This game deserves a remake.

  • Its all about Gau. Nice review

  • play the psx version.

it is soooo much better than that shitty gba remake.

  • i have the psx version-- and i disagree-- the graphics (due to the fact that emulators can and do boost them) are better on an emulator. Also the psx version has lots of disc loading when scrolling through item/spell menus.

  • well, would you trade load times for the crappy music that boggs down the overall experience?

    i wouldn't.

  • umm the music is the same lol, and it performed perfectly fine for me.

  • im talking about the quality of the gba version. it sounds like someone took out twenty dollar MIDI instruments and mimicked uematsu's work. im sorry, but i cant deal with music that is more grainier now, than it was when it came for the super nintendo. the quality of the music totally ruines the in game cutscenes.

  • @gakiyarou The music isn't as clear in the GBA version. Listen to the opera scene on the GBA and then the SNES version. Then, listen to "Battle to the Death" on the SNES then the GBA version. These are the two best examples.

  • @Playstation72 i do have to agree here, but imo its acceptable. I'm not much of an audiophile. To me the better translation is the most important aspect.

  • @gakiyarou That's cool. Personally, I like having better music. Both versions have their strengths so, ultimately, it's up to you.

  • Did you just call FF6 music crappy?

Excuse Uematsu for not composing heavy metal for you, you typical little cunt.

  • ummm, you never read my last post to some stupid ass.

i would never call FF6 music crappy. i said that the gba's music quality was shitty compared to the previous releases of FF6.

next time get the whole fucking picture right before you go saying shit like little cunt. and get a fucking life.

  • @Akaiga stfu both of you u fucking trolls

  • fanboy alert, ps1 version loading is a crime. Gba have extras, better translation, better visual and is portable. It also save on its own software.

  • Its not better graphs and the music quality isnt good. :D But i like the extras

  • It's brighter and clearer with the DSL.

  • to be clear-- when i said the GBA version has better graphics than the psx version-- i meant that they are better because I played it on an emulator that has graphical enhancing options.

  • hell yea, sabin ftw

  • I concur, I was merely joking about the fact that in the story Locke constantly tries to establish himself as an "adventurer" whenever someone calls him a thief. Plus he IS an adventurer in the GBA version, and you said yourself it has improved translation.

But his abilities ARE those typical of thieves so I suppose any of the two would fit.

Thanks for clearing it up for me, I've only played the GBA version.

  • Another difference in the gba version Is improved sound, and "wonderswan" color scheme applied to its' graphics.

    P.S. to gakiyarou: Locke is an ADVENTURER not a thief, yeesh! [ ;

  • ummm no, your wrong, he is a thief, at least he is in the original version, they flat out translated it as THIEF, he has the 'steal' command and later the 'mug' command if you give him a certain accessory.

  • Actually the GBA version has reduced difficulty. Hardcore gamers avoid!

  • The main story was superior to all other FF games because it loosely borrowed from world history (WW2, in particular) . Kefka is like Hitler and the emperor was sort of like the Kaiser and after the world gets ruined, then its like Nazi Germany. Magitek armor are the tanks, the returners are the O.S.S ( Allies ), Figaro is Britain, Doma is Poland or China ( maybe both), Kefka killing general Leo is the night of the long knives. I could go on all day with comparison/spoilers.

  • So could anyone. It's lame. Stop it.

  • what you've basically said is it's the best story cause it's a ripoff of real life events. people play RPG/fantasy games to escape real life. they don't wanna be reminded of it. therefore, using your logic, that would make this game's storyline one of the worst of the series.

  • ...can i say this to represent the person who made this video? What did you just say? I mean have you seen games like The Sims 1, 2, and 3?(which the 1st one happens to be the best selling PC game of all time) To be honest, I love real life, I just like the amazing storyline and entertainment of these kind of games. And I know that the sims isn't exactly an RPG, but it has many RPG elements due to the skill building.

  • you're one of the lucky few then. but trust me.. there are many people out there who HATE real life an play games for an escape. there's nothing wrong with that

  • @sickspastic what an adachi line (look up persona 4 boss adachi if you dont get what i just said because it takes too long to explain.) and life is a game of cards, ya take whatever it throws your way good or bad. (wow i need to stop talking like setzer.)

  • @sickspastic i disagree

  • I like final fantasy 9...

  • Awesome game!

  • this game kicks serious ass but personally 4 (2) has many more memories for me..

  • This for me was the best one it was awesome.

  • @tuttles45 Finally some who loves ff6 just as much as me!

  • Very awesome game
