This "LeMans" movie had to be either June or July of 77. I should know; after my folks and I moved back to Brooklyn from SanFran, I recall the "LeMans" announcements airing on NBC right about then.
I have great memories of when The Sting was playing at the Capre on Fordham Road in 1973 (didn't see it, but the buzz was so big that even at 6 I know about the film,) but I don't remember it being released in 1977.
BTW, I saw "The Sting" at our local drive-in when it first came out. One of the first movies that I saw at that venue that I didn't fall asleep before the movie ended (even though I really had no idea what the heck was going on :-)
Patrick Wayne was the Old Spice guy?! My family and I saw him in "The Land That Time Forgot" (the first time that I saw him) that same year, but I never made the connection until now.
As for Larry Wilcox (the other sailor) in 1977, Patrick Wayne was like his famous father star-wise in comparison. :-)

The right channel, to be precise. Many mono-only headphones only pick up audio from the left channel.

I remember Eddie Murphy saying a funny joke about using some Old Spice on his first date and Brute - I rather not say it here - this is family TV

remember patrick wayne in sinbad and the eye of the tiger?
tapthatt2012 2 years ago
I remember when it came out, Tap, but if the TV spots ever mentioned his name, it didn't mean anything to me at the time.
I did see "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" years later, FWIW.

@tapthatt2012 No, but I recall him as the host of the 1990 "Tic Tac Dough," a sorry substitute for Wink Martindale's rendition.
