Even so, I personally like Paul's message, though probably only in theory. Whilst I agree with his libertarian reasoning, I don't think I could ever honestly advocate abolishing government paid services like the health service and schools.

Totally agree about civil liberties, non militarism and cutting taxes (within reason) though and he's 10000 times better than the other conservatives.

@BringBRToTheUK That's the biggest thing I preach to people. I would rather have someone in office that stands for what he does. If we have someone as a president or prime minister to temper the legislative branch, then we would have much more balance in our respective countries. Right now in the US, not sure about the UK, we have two parties that either cater and redistribute the wealth to either the super rich (or big companies) or the poor.

Whilst I think Obama has done wrong in signing the NDAA and dragging his feet in the withdrawal of troops, I think that Obama care is probably a good thing. The UK has government paid health service, and whilst I may resent having to bear the responsibilty for lazy, life time smokers and such, it is better than seeing them die.

I like the idea of voluntarism too, but am too cynical to believe in it.

What a great demonstration/example of door to door canvassing! This is very much like our canvassing went in '08. You touched on all the major topics, avoided opponent-bashing and weren't pushy, leaving the person to make up their own mind.
