wow i thought the mic just sounded horrible on a tom, but i watched the d1 and d2 vids and they sound like crap too. basically these people have no idea what they are doing.
Interesting to hear how it sounds, but like the previous poster I wouldn't use it on toms - there's far more background noise (I presume that being a kick mic it's less sensitive) and it's a bit clicky for my liking. Great on kick but not the sort of thing I'm really looking for for toms.
Interesting to hear how the D6 handles a tom. Don't think I'd use it for recording a tom unless I was going for a pretty unique sound. Great for kick drums and bass guitar cabs though. Cool video.
AYO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND HIT THE DRUM.

that rack tom doesn't sound like a rack tom, more like someone tapping the bottom of a plastic jerry container....

I don't think a cardioid mic would sound that good being so close to the head unless you want a deadened disco sound.

I wasn't too happy with that sound myself.
Give me an MD421 any day!

@BTCSUK it's not the mic that's the problem, it's everything else in the equation that made it sound shit!
