@ArtificialFlavaFTB2 In that forest where you get Mieu, there's a chest with a key item. This item lets you change the playable character. Open the Menu Screen and move to the right. Choose the character you wanna play and press Select (if I'm not mistaken).

@alxrgoes That item only changes the character you see walking on the map, not the one you play as. You can start doing that after you get a certain item during the game, I believe right before the group leaves Baticul to go to Akzeriuth. You will always get this item.

this game is seriously the best battle system rpg game in history!!!

Here's another tip.

Remember the nemesis that can't be killed and later will be a part of a quest? Re enter Inista Marsh and save, be sure you have one character that can steal because you can steal RED BASIL from this guy. After you stole one, escape! This method is repeatable steal and escape. So you might want to comeback here if you want to raise ur Fdef and If u kill him, he will not appear anymore. So stock up, if u want.

It's best to do this in Unknown difficulty. 20-30% chance to steal

Some tips, Manipulate the stat of ur favorite char because toa randomly raises stat. Save the game before you gain a level for ex. you want Luke to have a high str, his str growth is like this 5-7, 7 but it rarely occurs so your option is to go with 6 with a tutti that makes+10 per lvl.. We all know that Red Lavender is hellish to get and the one that drops it is a rare encounter. Best stat to Raise for Luke and Guy is Str and Agi, Red saffron is easy to get so agi wont be a problem.

Question on Staggering: Ok, I'm a Symphonia fan, so do the properties of stalling a spell apply to Abyss as well for the Spell Save? Example: I attempt to stall a spell by holding O, get hit and the spell is "cancelled". By Spell Save, if I try to cast it again, it automatically casts the spell?

Also, do certain FSC's give out certain AD Skills at certain times? Or is it just the character... I"m hoping for Jade to get the basics, Speed Cast, Concentration (does it exists?), Spell Save etc.

i have a combo for guy probably most of you heard of it but anyway here's how you do it

-equip a sunlight chamber for void tempest

-stagger the enemy with minor hits

-use severing wind

-use void tempest

- minor hits

-repeat

it's easier when you do minor hits combined with the arrow facing the enemy

I'm currently playing Tales of Vesperia (*points to self again* is a BIG fan of the Tales series). It has a faster loading time than Abyss and the graphics are AMAZING.

Yep, that'd be me ^.^

Agility helps but in the case of Tiger Blade, if you have over 500 uses in Tiger Blade (More uses = faster, so 999 is best) you can use Tiger Blade then then wait for the recovery time and use a quick activation Arte or normal attacks before the enemy recovers.

After 500 uses you recover from Tiger Blade before the enemy does so you have the ability to make big combos by putting Tiger Blade at the end of your normal combos.

You can do this by doing something like...having Guy use Severing Wind after you start chanting but before you finish, as long as the FoF finishes appearing before you actually cast the spell.

3: aim your spell inside a FoF, if the spell curser is inside a FoF 9or at least, part way in) as long as the FoF is still there when you finish casting, you'll get the FoF change.

And i thought my first comment didn't come up so there might be two of basically the same thing, sorry.

You need to have certain AD skills (forget which, i think it was spell save) and turn off AD skills that stop you from staggering.

Start casting a spell, when the chant finishes, hold the Arte button so you're holding the spell and when you release the button you will release the spell at that moment.

Now, while holding the spell, get hit ans stagger, if you try to cast the same spell again you'll cast it instantly.

That attack is Fortune's Ark. U nid to complete the game once, all fonic hymns must be done 50x and Judgement must be used to activate. For the extension, hold the either the cross or circle, depending on the version and it will heal, revive and buff ur party.

Anise is done with high AGI+Spell Save, Natalia is done with other people helpping her (Jade+Anise) to help keep the enemy in the air. Tear= FoF canceling and Spell Cancelling. Jade er...just fast spell usage. Guy= FoF canceling and high AGI. I gotta admit Luke was done very very well all pure FoF canceling.

I gave MY opinion on how the combos should have been done, Which shouldnt have been always done in a corner, which kinda defies the word 'Master' if the monster used in the combos needed to be forced into a corner in order to actually get combos.

Although the Tear Combo chain was my favorite, I disliked the fact that the monster had to be forced into a corner. The video was still enjoyable despite that fact.

I just typed the title as it appeared on a file I found, and it turns out that it's partially wrong. Try changing the "he" to "e". It turns out that, whenever the hiragana "he" is used for grammar purposes, it's pronounced "e" (and written in romaji as such).

999 spell usage and arte usage alows for much smoother connection. Also, having the right AD skills (super chain) can allow you to link arcane and base artes in a long string of attacks.

He casted the spell but before Jade actually said the name of the spell or really did his spell casting movement he used Overlimit to cancel that movement so Jade doesn't get stuck in recovering from that spell.
