With their technical expertise and innovative engineering, we are so fortunate that leaders of that regime were a bunch of arrogant ignorant idiots the primary individual ignoring the advice and input of his advisors and experts because he was "the smartest man in the room". Unfortunately, we are passengers in a similarly oarless boat now.
@spiros66 he's right the tiny propeller was pretty much help it run, when the komet ran out of fuel, it became a glider but if all the fuel wasn't used when landing, the komet would blow up on impact.
WW2 German technology was sought after and by the end of WW2 the Allies espeically the Americans got their spoils of war, but not only the Technology (Rockets, Jets, Research etc) but the 'brains' also which were all secretly imported into the US in 1945 to New Mexico, some of these men were wanted for war crimes and so it was all kept hush-hush and in 1947 the public got a fantastic story which helped hide all of this... that story was "saucer crash" - google : Operation Paperclip!
The ME 262 wasnt a secret it was deployed in late 1944 and was decomisioned in 1946 because of pilot death, (sorry for posting the other one with the error) no hate e mails please i KNOW this for a fact
I like the Me162. Its a good thing they didn't get an AF built around it. Im not sayin it would have won them the war, but it wouldn't have hurt. A revisiting of op "sea lion" would be scary with comets, me 162 and V2 as support.
@TheBananaJoint not really prototype but alot of todays modern technology like aircroft and vehicles come from german design, like our B-2 stealth bomber is based off a german post war bomber
@5hiThAppEnS2 The B-2 is not based on German designs but on the designs of Jack Northrup. He designed and flew flying wings at about the same time as the Germans. The German designs stopped at the Ho-229, while Northrups designs went on into the YB-35 and the YB-40 which were the direct ancestors to the B-2. You are correct in that we got alot of tech from the Germans after the war.
@Toddinfantry ohhh ok, well iv seen a design of a late war german bomber that was found post war by the russians. iv seen a couple photos too, iv also heard about it might had influenced designs of the b2
@5hiThAppEnS2 Thanks. I have seen this and it was one of hundreds of plans / drawings of more "super weapons". This aircraft was a concept only and was never even built. They did come up with some pretty cool stuff though.
The Allies stole the Nazi scientists and experts from under the nose of Russia, In some cases even behind Russian lines, Stalin went crazy when he heard of the British and Americans taking nazi scientists and experts and saving Nazi war criminals and giving them money and jobs and get out of jail free cards.
The tiny propeller on the front of the ME-162 was there as as part of a mechanical air speed indicator mechanism. The more the prop turned the faster the air speed.
don't get me wrong but it only came because of hitler, and he killed thousands of innocent people, yay for the blood on your hands? i dont think so. pretty cool rocket though.. just dont like the blood nd all with it...
The nazi's have a moonbase on the dark side of the moon, I went there once, yeah, me and Yoko Ono went there. It was kinda cool. Then we got put in a work camp.
@MrMagichobo21 - There is no propeller at 1min 41sec! This plane is a jet plane! In the photo there is a continuing white color at the nose of the plane and on the ground so the eye is deceived and sees a propeller! Thank you for your comment.
@spiros66 There is indeed a propeller on the comet. The propeller was turned by the wind and drove a dynamo for the power of the plane. And it also is no jet plane but a rocket plane...
@spiros66 There is indeed a propeller on the comet. The propeller was turned by the wind and drove a dynamo for the power of the plane. And it also is no jet plane but a rocket plane...
@spiros66 ...actually, it IS a propeller. Just not the conventional kind. It was used to power some of the systems in the aircraft. Like a simple turbine, or simpler yet, a windmill. As the airflow forced it to turn, it generated current. Also, it's a ROCKET plane, not a jet.
@MrMagichobo21 They are seen on airplanes today. On many jets, they have a little fan that would pop out into the wind and spin. This would power a generator inside the plane to run the electric systems if there was a battery failue or some other problem.
The German missles and the ME-262 has taken us a long way in Technology. Most of the secret weapon attemps by the Nazi's were nothing more than death sleds for the pilots. How many German pilots died trying to get some of these machines off the ground?
Luckily for us all, Hitler and his cronies had massive egos and a very clear lack of vision. They never took the idea of jet fighter/interceptors and ballistic missles seriously until it was too late...thank the good lord!!
@SuperFeralcat well there missiles they took serious, hitlers generals actually advised him to make the jet as a fighter/interceptor, but he wanted it as a fighterbomber
Yes, you are right. About thier missiles, what I meant to say was they (or just Hitler) seemed to feel that launching missiles against mostly(not all) civilian targets would win the war. I might have generalized a little, sorry about that...but, yes the germans did have men with vision, but they were not always in charge. Thanks very much for the feedback, I mean that!!
@SuperFeralcat n prblem, but launching missiles at civilian targets does have an effect on the soldiers tough, it demoralizes the population and the soldiers, but it wont win a war
@SuperFeralcat although i'm not siding with the nazies i have a few things to say about our world if "i win (the/a war) i would be the hero but if i lose i will be the villain(of the/a war). Although the nazies we actually bad enough to be villains. which also said another thing: never piss off too many people at once and try not to do disreputable stuff. All in all i agree with u. IF he DId believe in jets and invested in the Messerschmidt we would have won the war no me out of words
@SuperFeralcat srry i just ran out of words. anyways if i said stuff anyone disagrees to i am sorry. NOTE: i'm NOT a Nazi lover or a guy who wants to take over the world.
Great touch having the 28days later music goes well with the theme. The nazi's were evil but genius its scary to think if they had these amazing weapons earlier. All our modern weapons as we know them come from the Germans
@fightbackordie Not only the weapons :) I saw on Discovery channel some Docus about Sputnik and the moon race .. so funny i was able to read all the blueprints and whitepaper it was written down in GERMAN! but this is all forgotten becus the holocaust... we will always be the bad german nazi scum :( no one care about your change.. that to bad! we forgive USA/UK for destroy and totally disable us. we forgive UDSSR for the split up thing (DDR).. greetz from Germany :)
His real problem was not crushing Britain when he had the chance. If he could have secured the western seaboard they would have been able to focus there effort against Russia. He moved too quickly before being able to secure land. My grandfather fought and nearly died fighting the Germans but I often wonder what kind of world we could have today if Hitler would have been successful.
Germany in WW2 is the closest any country has come to controlling the entire world. If Japan never attacekd the US and caused it to build up its military then Germany may have occupied Europe, Africa, half of Asia, and parts of the Americas. All because of Hitlers ahtred towards banks/Jews.
they where stopped by the RAF invading Britain , lost in north Africa to the Brits and had no holdings in Asia , that was the Japanese, all this before the USA got involved two years late into ww2 p.s the Australians told the USA that Yamamoto was coming across the pacific destination pearl harbor, learn history before making blanket comments please
Who gave the Brits money, guns, and other resources? the US... And Nazis were in Africa, Europe, and ASIA! I know my history. I have a degree in it. READ MY FUCKIN COMMENT FULLY BEFORE SAYING SHIT. I never said the took over the world I said the may have.
Actually the USA bailed out the uk before they entered the war, lend lease, intelligence, raw supplies and atlantic convoys. Had the uk being on her own ....well
hold on, germany, italy, japan, and when russia and america came into the war germany had already taken over poland, france etc, so at the end of the day we won the war ha ha ha ha ha ha, na na na na na
wow. they took over france, belgium, holland, etc. the girl scouts of america could have taken france and those countries. once they fought the big boys they collapsed. dont give us the shit they were a small country, they bit off more than they could chew. my god , they lost two wars in 30yrs, they are what they are a 18th century superpower back when knights roamed the land. u wont be a power again and havent been for centurys
Your grandfathers had more respect for their enemy's fighting capabilities than you obviously do. You would do well to learn from their example so they might not turn in their graves.
actually at one point there was 7 axis countries germany, italy, japan, hungary, romania, bulgaria and slovakia if the germans wouldn't of been dumb enough to invade the russians it would of been a completely different ball game, or if the japs wouldn't of attacked the americans, the war was awfully close to a very different end
Well... maybe Germany wouldn't have had to fight 12 countries at once if they had just been a bit nicer i.e. not being genocidal maniacs, Nazism, etc.
I mean if Germany as a constitutional democracy had invaded the USSR (rather than making a deal with Stalin to carve up Poland) USA and UK might very well have joined Germany.
Hah !!!.......People are so jealous of the German technological genius that they invent preposterous ALIEN THEORIES rather than give credit where it is due.
However does your little brain even compute how many MAJOR powers it took to defeat one tiny Germany ???
USA would have got royally raped had it fought Germany alone !!!
And if only Hitler had not made those few strategically bad decisions at the final stages of the war - Tiny Germany would still have defeated the HUGE Allies !!
People still think as if victory was guaranteed when the allies joined hands !!!
lol really? how would the Germans cross the Atlantic? they would encounter the same problems that they did against the British but it would be even worse.
You forget the Amerika Bomber project, besides they were taking the V2 to the next level too. Even if the bomber would make a one way trip - there were people back then in Nazi Germany ready to make the call !
I'ts kind of hard to develop major new technology on a large scale capable of winning a war when your factories and cities are being destroyed by around the clock bombing campaigns. Nazi Germany might have developed the V2 rocket and the first rocked powered aircraft, but Germany was never in a position to build and pilot enough of them or make much use of them, nor develop them further so as to make them more effective.
The war was lost, the Allies got the spoils. Hitler failed and I'm glad.
hell yea we r all glad he failed XP but if i wouldve been him.....i wouldve FIRST built all these things THEN tried to conquer the world ya know. =\ lol
Germans had great tech but they were lead by a destabilising madman who thought he could take on the combined might of the Soviet Union, British Empire and the United States of America, all at the same time, to spite being just a relatively small central European country with limited resources or man power.
No. "He" as in Hitler NEVER could have, it was beyond his nature.
Well maybe if Hitler had the power of clairvoyance but thankfully he was nothing more than a lance-corporal (the lowest rank there is for a non commissioned officer) who had delusions of being some master strategists.
A far more competent and quite frankly sane leader of Germany might have succeed but would have had to rely FAR more on diplomacy, rather than sparking an uncontrollable World War.
this technology isnt from aliens, come on these scientist were highly intelligent!!give credit where credit is due!!actaually HITLER wanted to be burned because he didnt want the russians to get his body in tack, and also they burned eva with him!!duuuh duuuh go read a book!!!
just remember that before berlin was taken the Nazis tried to detroyed every idea and technology they had. Hitler even made them burn him. So this means that there was more alien like tech created by the Nazis than these :)
I could remark here, that most of the flight technology you know from our modern days and used by the US Armywhere developed by Nazi cientifics caught when the war was over. It was forbidden to kill this guys and the order was to bring them alive to US territory. The complete space programm of the 60s was developed with such german technology. We could say that the german cientifics where extremely good in vectors and physics. The so called Stealth was a german design first called Horten Ho 229.
I can't help but the Me262 looks so absolutely cool. Some of those other designs too, but the Me262 beats them all. Even modern jetplanes. They look too much like spacefighters, the Me looks like a fighterjet should look. Good we lost the war anyway. ; )
I think that eventyally the jews will be swept up with a broom of fire by the tsunami of public outrage at their monopolistic policies. They are the most inbred and schizophrenic race and have always been jealous of the refined nature of the aryan race. By elastic means shall we take back our planet and away from the usurpers.
The german's have incredible ingenuity and mechanical sense, ive got a bmw 316 that's done nearly 2 and a half thou and it still pull's like a biatch havent had it serviced EVER!!! apart from usual oil and filter it's incredible........... I hate hitler but i love the german's x x x shame this part of history ever had to happen, although without war, great technological achievement's are not made....... IRONY or what........................
Listen, Hitler was not that stupid, despite what the modern mass media wants to make us believe. The "incredible ingenuity" and "mechanical sense" you were talking about, that's not something the Germans have learned. This creative power is in their genes! Germans have such a small country with so few raw materials, compared to other peoples. Yet, they have achieved so much more in science and technology. WHY IS THAT SO??? It can only be a kind of racial / blood superiority that is truly there.
And I will never understand why so many people doggedly believe that we are all exactly the same. There are very beautiful people on this planet and, by constrast, also very ugly people. The same way, there are very able races and also not so able races. It's only natural.
Hitler wanted to give the able Germanic races more land and raw materials, in order to speed up scientific and technological progress.
If the Nazis had won ww2, we definitely would be far more advanced today! Definitely!
You are right about Hitler being a military idiot. He kinda deliberatly lost the war for Germany.
But overall, I agree with his theories that you have to give more land and raw materials to people of Germanic origin. It simply is so that Germanics are the pushers of science & technology, they are the true innovators on this planet.
I know I sound super racist, and let me tell you, I don't hate other races/peoples, why should I?!?! But I also see reality the way it is.
You might want to talk to Werner Heisenberg who headed the Third Reichs atomic bomb programbecause that would be news to him. fyi Germany never even constructed a working nuclear reactor during WW2. Meanwhile back in December 2, 1942, at , University of Chicago, in the United States Enrico Fermi first attempt to control a chain reaction of nuclear fission. The experiment was successful.
Under supervision of the SS, from 194445, German scientists in Thuringia tested some form of "nuclear weapon", possibly a dirty bomb Several hundred prisoners of war are alleged to have died as a result. Karlsch's primary evidence are alleged vouchers for the atomic weapon attempts, a preliminary plutonium bomb patent from the year 1941 (which had been known about, but not yet found), and conducted industrial archaeology on the remains of the first experimental German nuclear reactor
February 2006, full tests on the soil at the proposed test site were released by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), revealing no abnormal background levels of radiation after taking into account the already elevated background levels as a result of the Chernobyl accident in 1986. The PTB release emphasized that while it could not necessarily rule out a German test conclusively, that soil analysis of that site revealed absolutely no evid
yes, but why do they push themselves more in the first place??? Where does this drive come from? Who lights this fire of innovation at the very beginning? There must be a source where it all starts!
And this source are the genes of a people. I mean, what else can there be?!?!
A lot of technology created by Germany has been developed by a lot of unconventional thinkers. Obviously Germany would have picked up a lot of great scientists and pushed them to their max potential. A lot of experiments. Trial by error.
I think that the people of today still have the ability to think extremely out of the box still its just.. those people work in economic think tanks.. large beverage/food corporations.. or whatever instead of developing war technology
Well, I just wish the Germans had more people, more land and more raw materials. It's very simple: more Germans = more cool inventions & products.
The only problem is: Our planet only has a limited amount of land and raw materials. Thus the different peoples on this earth have to fight over them. That also where all the racism is coming from.
Wouldn't it be great if we had an endless amount of land & raw materials at our direct disposal?!
Im wondering where you get your facts to support your statement. Ive seen no real data to support the doctrine of scarcity the you base your statements on, the illusion of scarcity, and some groups of humans on this planet will to dominate others is the problem. Our problems have been solved years ago by our greatest technicians, its your corporate and political and religous leaders who keep the world in the state its in.
It is not that German technical genius is in the blood or the genes per se.
Get into human evolution a bit more - It was the situation in human history wherein the Germanic tribe was faced with larger enemies & to survive had to indulge in innovation.
As long as the necessity to innovate remains, Germans will innovate or perish.
See us Indians - We invented Zero & Plastic surgery & so many things in Science, Astronomy & Maths long long ago, then stopped when the NECESSITY faded !!!!
yes, but we have seen what happens when other people push as well, the p-51 mustang for instance, arguably the best piston fighter ever produced. and stealth technology (yes I know its still possible to be detected) or what about the british meteor? there are tons of brilliant inventions and not all of them were german.
The English are of Anglo-Saxon, i.e. Germanic, origin.
Most US Americans are also of Germanic origin, either from the British Islands or from Germany directly. Why else do you think the country is so damn powerful?!?! The biggest aerospace company in the world, Boeing, was founded by German Americans. The original German surname is "Böing". I'm not 100% sure about this, but I can guarantee that the P-51 Mustang has more to do with Germans (German Americans) than you might think.
An talking about stealth technology: I think I've read somewhere that the Germans stumbled upon stealth technology in ww2. They were not searching for it, they more or less accidentally discovered it. But I'm not so sure about whether it was really a German discovery or not.

SuperFeralcat 2 years ago
@SuperFeralcat n prblem, but launching missiles at civilian targets does have an effect on the soldiers tough, it demoralizes the population and the soldiers, but it wont win a war
SuperMachinegunner 2 years ago
@SuperFeralcat although i'm not siding with the nazies i have a few things to say about our world if "i win (the/a war) i would be the hero but if i lose i will be the villain(of the/a war). Although the nazies we actually bad enough to be villains. which also said another thing: never piss off too many people at once and try not to do disreputable stuff. All in all i agree with u. IF he DId believe in jets and invested in the Messerschmidt we would have won the war no me out of words

Hitler had make the mistake to remain the winter in Russia ...
he also make mistake at opening a war with the us not becouse of the power , but opening so many wars at the same time only problem can create...
varimathrasgr 2 years ago

Jononutoob 2 years ago
they where stopped by the RAF invading Britain , lost in north Africa to the Brits and had no holdings in Asia , that was the Japanese, all this before the USA got involved two years late into ww2 p.s the Australians told the USA that Yamamoto was coming across the pacific destination pearl harbor, learn history before making blanket comments please

actually at one point there was 7 axis countries germany, italy, japan, hungary, romania, bulgaria and slovakia if the germans wouldn't of been dumb enough to invade the russians it would of been a completely different ball game, or if the japs wouldn't of attacked the americans, the war was awfully close to a very different end
hcclaudiu 2 years ago
Well... maybe Germany wouldn't have had to fight 12 countries at once if they had just been a bit nicer i.e. not being genocidal maniacs, Nazism, etc.
I mean if Germany as a constitutional democracy had invaded the USSR (rather than making a deal with Stalin to carve up Poland) USA and UK might very well have joined Germany.

They lost the war - yeah !!!
People still think as if victory was guaranteed when the allies joined hands !!!
prodigytechus 2 years ago
lol really? how would the Germans cross the Atlantic? they would encounter the same problems that they did against the British but it would be even worse.
DMBHawk 2 years ago
You forget the Amerika Bomber project, besides they were taking the V2 to the next level too. Even if the bomber would make a one way trip - there were people back then in Nazi Germany ready to make the call !
prodigytechus 2 years ago
I'ts kind of hard to develop major new technology on a large scale capable of winning a war when your factories and cities are being destroyed by around the clock bombing campaigns. Nazi Germany might have developed the V2 rocket and the first rocked powered aircraft, but Germany was never in a position to build and pilot enough of them or make much use of them, nor develop them further so as to make them more effective.
The war was lost, the Allies got the spoils. Hitler failed and I'm glad.

Germans had great tech but they were lead by a destabilising madman who thought he could take on the combined might of the Soviet Union, British Empire and the United States of America, all at the same time, to spite being just a relatively small central European country with limited resources or man power.
Treblaine 2 years ago 2
He could have if he did it right.
WTCTribute 2 years ago
Treblaine 2 years ago
Well, of course. However, *if* he had a change in nature, then it's possible. It's fun to look at the wild possibilities, lol.
Had Rommel been in charge, things would have been quite different.

Good we lost the war anyway. ; )

danson121 2 years ago 6
Listen, Hitler was not that stupid, despite what the modern mass media wants to make us believe. The "incredible ingenuity" and "mechanical sense" you were talking about, that's not something the Germans have learned. This creative power is in their genes! Germans have such a small country with so few raw materials, compared to other peoples. Yet, they have achieved so much more in science and technology. WHY IS THAT SO??? It can only be a kind of racial / blood superiority that is truly there.
TheDivineDaniel 2 years ago
And I will never understand why so many people doggedly believe that we are all exactly the same. There are very beautiful people on this planet and, by constrast, also very ugly people. The same way, there are very able races and also not so able races. It's only natural.
Hitler wanted to give the able Germanic races more land and raw materials, in order to speed up scientific and technological progress.
If the Nazis had won ww2, we definitely would be far more advanced today! Definitely!
TheDivineDaniel 2 years ago
true but that means that the world would wanish because Nazism!! Nazi tehnology was outstanding!!

the me262 as a bomber? :( attacking russia in the winter?
Yamaha950 2 years ago
You are right about Hitler being a military idiot. He kinda deliberatly lost the war for Germany.
But overall, I agree with his theories that you have to give more land and raw materials to people of Germanic origin. It simply is so that Germanics are the pushers of science & technology, they are the true innovators on this planet.
I know I sound super racist, and let me tell you, I don't hate other races/peoples, why should I?!?! But I also see reality the way it is.
TheDivineDaniel 2 years ago
apparently when Hitler shot himself the Nazis were 10 days away from completing their nuclear bomb. Although it wouldn't have made a difference.
Chronobeanz 2 years ago
You might want to talk to Werner Heisenberg who headed the Third Reichs atomic bomb programbecause that would be news to him. fyi Germany never even constructed a working nuclear reactor during WW2. Meanwhile back in December 2, 1942, at , University of Chicago, in the United States Enrico Fermi first attempt to control a chain reaction of nuclear fission. The experiment was successful.
Worlds first working nuclear reactor.

Then I was probably wrong. But thats simply what I heard.

Yamaha950 2 years ago
@ Yamaha950,
yes, but why do they push themselves more in the first place??? Where does this drive come from? Who lights this fire of innovation at the very beginning? There must be a source where it all starts!
And this source are the genes of a people. I mean, what else can there be?!?!
TheDivineDaniel 2 years ago
[unbiased opinion]
A lot of technology created by Germany has been developed by a lot of unconventional thinkers. Obviously Germany would have picked up a lot of great scientists and pushed them to their max potential. A lot of experiments. Trial by error.
I think that the people of today still have the ability to think extremely out of the box still its just.. those people work in economic think tanks.. large beverage/food corporations.. or whatever instead of developing war technology
dannybarrx 2 years ago
[unbiased opinions don't exist]
Well, I just wish the Germans had more people, more land and more raw materials. It's very simple: more Germans = more cool inventions & products.
The only problem is: Our planet only has a limited amount of land and raw materials. Thus the different peoples on this earth have to fight over them. That also where all the racism is coming from.
Wouldn't it be great if we had an endless amount of land & raw materials at our direct disposal?!
TheDivineDaniel 2 years ago
Im wondering where you get your facts to support your statement. Ive seen no real data to support the doctrine of scarcity the you base your statements on, the illusion of scarcity, and some groups of humans on this planet will to dominate others is the problem. dannybarrx 2 years ago
See us Indians - We invented Zero & Plastic surgery & so many things in Science, Astronomy & Maths long long ago, then stopped when the NECESSITY faded !!!!
prodigytechus 2 years ago
yes, but we have seen what happens when other people push as well, the p-51 mustang for instance, arguably the best piston fighter ever produced. and stealth technology (yes I know its still possible to be detected) or what about the british meteor? there are tons of brilliant inventions and not all of them were german.
Yamaha950 2 years ago
The English are of Anglo-Saxon, i.e. Germanic, origin.
Most US Americans are also of Germanic origin, either from the British Islands or from Germany directly. Why else do you think the country is so damn powerful?!?! The biggest aerospace company in the world, Boeing, was founded by German Americans. The original German surname is "Böing". I'm not 100% sure about this, but I can guarantee that the P-51 Mustang has more to do with Germans (German Americans) than you might think.
TheDivineDaniel 2 years ago
An talking about stealth technology: I think I've read somewhere that the Germans stumbled upon stealth technology in ww2. They were not searching for it, they more or less accidentally discovered it. But I'm not so sure about whether it was really a German discovery or not.
