More people play football in the usa than gridiron it is just that americans are very poor at football. Football demands technique that you need to learn froma young age. hockey is played on a rock hard surface with blades that can cut so I don't think it should be played without pads but nfl could be. if rugby players can play 80 mins with only 10 mins break with no protection being hit by 280 pound guys than the nfl could do the same even with their breaks every 2 mins. most rugby players have facial scars and broken noses, they look like boxers. nfl players don't have a scratch on them.

American football is the most strategic field sport in the world you fool. Their are more plays and formations than soccer, rugby and any others put together. Plus, the athletes that play football are the best, most talented athletes in America. Our World Cup soccer and rugby teams would be better, but the top athletes here in the states play football. Simple as that.
While NFL may be a more strategic game, I couldn't argue it requires more skill than say soccer. How much skill does blocking take opposed to dribbling, connecting on crosses, free kicks, etc. NFL is more about coaching and soccer is more about playing. I love both sports.

More people play football in the usa than gridiron it is just that americans are very poor at football. Football demands technique that you need to learn froma young age. Most nfl players only start playing nfl at 13 or 14, it is easy to become good at nfl so they drop football which has a world class level of competition.

Warrior, soccer is considered a child's sport in the U.S.. (not trying to be rude) Parents feel it is good exercise and little contact but at the upper levels noone cares about it. Its probably the 5th or 6th most popular sport in the U.S., if it became the primary sport the U.S., with 300 million people, would be very good.

not any more. among people between the ages of 8-35 soccer is the biggest sport in japan. baseball had a huge following there until the formation of the j league soccer and the World Cup there in 2002 gave soccer a slight but ever expanding popularity lead.

hockey is played on a rock hard surface with blades that can cut so I don't think it should be played without pads but nfl could be. if rugby players can play 80 mins with only 10 mins break with no protection being hit by 280 pound guys than the nfl could do the same even with their breaks every 2 mins. most rugby players have facial scars and broken noses, they look like boxers. nfl players don't have a scratch on them.

i posted this earlier, but it's hard to argue that NFL requires more skill than soccer. blocking requires only brute force, whereas dribbling, passing, set pieces require actually athleticism. NFL is more coaching, soccer is more playing.

There is no one there for this apparent grand opening. NFL is a freak sport, a hybrid of rugby. It isn't taken seriously outside of the usa. The skills needded for nfl are simply way too basic.

American football is the most strategic field sport in the world you fool. Their are more plays and formations than soccer, rugby and any others put together. Plus, the athletes that play football are the best, most talented athletes in America. Our World Cup soccer and rugby teams would be better, but the top athletes here in the states play football. While NFL may be a more strategic game, I couldn't argue it requires more skill than say soccer. How much skill does blocking take opposed to dribbling, connecting on crosses, free kicks, etc. NFL is more about coaching and soccer is more about playing. I love both sports.
