This is brilliant! My dog always found the most expensive area rug in the house. When we first got him the only piece of carpeting was a $5 rug in front of the sink. He would puke there. Then we bought a $75 antique hooked rug and put that outside our bedroom door. That became the spot. Then we bought a $450 area rug for the living room. That was the spot from then on. No idea how he knew.

@skeez86 I had a dog that spent far too much time alone for a couple years while my husband and I worked crazy shifts up North. He taught himself to pee in the shower. Our room mate thought this was disgusting. I thought it was brilliant. His only other choice would have been to pee on the floor. In a perfect world he never would have been left alone so much but given that he was, his choice to pee in the tub was much better than peeing on the floor.

My Boston used to do the same thing in the mornings when we would get up. My Vet recommended simply household honey, not the fake crap either. It worked remarkably well. As soon as I see that look in his eye, I run and grab the honey and give him about a half tablespoon. It's the human equivalent to tums.

My BT does this too, my littler one. But she is too tiny to stand at the toilet. She will sit by it and rest her head on the bowl when her tummy hurts and I hold her over the bowl and she barfs. She always goes to the toilet when she wants to barf. I can't teach my big one to do it though. :S

The food we feed him doesn't have anything to do with the mucus build up Bostons get. He puts his ears back, makes that noise dogs do when they start to throw up, and we simply carry him to the bathroom and he stands on the toilet himself and throws it up. Sometimes I have to wipe his wittle mouth because he gets spit bubbles. So cute.

You can tell when he has to throw up and then you just walk him to the bathroom and he knows the drill. When he's done, he looks at me and waits for me to wipe his mouth. As for him seeing me do it: no comment.
