That's up there with the guys with meatballs on forks, the guy with his head being cooked and the Ready Salted Crisp as my personal favourites. Good job.
5 Stars. Should have at least been a runner-up. It got disqualified? Why? This was a totally original take and had me laughing out loud after watching 22 other Jane's Brain videos. NOT "the shabbiest thing on the internet", just look around YouTube. I strongly suspect you have talent.
thank you so much! you're very kind. disqualified due to me working for a company with a very loose association to the BBC, and compliance is all the rage at the Castle at the moment...
I was intrigued enough to watch your other videos and have a good long read of your blog. Clearly you are very funny, talented and intelligent all of which makes my original post sound rather patronising. Instead then, I say "Rubbish! This is a mere parody of a 'good' video. Distinctiveness, originality, rejection of cliche...YAWN. It's exactly what anyone would expect from a good video."
For what it's worth; I laughed far more at your blog than I do at Charlie Brooker.
This isn't the most polished Jane's Brain video, but it stands out a mile for not being a) animated and b) a literal interpretation of the lyrics. The news format is a great idea, it's well acted without being OTT, it's funny, clever, isn't too on the nose, has nice A&J references that aren't cringe inducing . . . AND it stay true to the music.
Best Jane's Brain video I've seen. Maybe even the best Song Wars video...

Wow! Thanks! That's really, really nice of you, I'm very touched. And here I thought everyone on the internet was horrifically nasty.
Feel free to tell me at this juncture that you're just kidding and you think I'm a total buffoon. :)

Everyone on the internet IS horrifically nasty. Fortunately, I'm not on the internet. I'm in Borough SE London. Far more civilized.
And no, I wasn't kidding (though I suspect you may well be a closet buffoon).
