Even lions fur have a strange chemical mixture on it (it's rather moist) if you accidentaly put your fingers in your mouth after touching a lions fur you may get very sick. The fur needs to be specially treated at a taxidermist before it is safe.

I take it you ate it at a restaurant and they will not sell it unless it is tested. If you ate a wild hunted one then once again you and your peers aren't very smart. In some areas wildbore have never been tested positive, in other areas it has been as high as 1-3%, bear tends to be around 5 to 10%.
