Such a nice tank really , i mean all europe considered it as a steel monster for it's time , It could actually outmanouver and outclass any tank availble in the world at that time , it had also the ability of carrying more powerfull guns it was a fast manouvrble tank with good armor values and incredible fire power , it was a perfect tank... despite all of that it remained as a Light tank class and by 1940-41 it was no match for its russian rivals such ass the T34 and so on ...Then long P4 Came
This was one of the most reliable tanks of WW2. It was also powerful when first introdiced, if the Germans had had to fight it in September 1938 they would have had problems.
@ludicrouslife67 Unfortunately there were no single LT vz.38 in that time. Just blueprints and non armed prototypes. There were about 300 LT vz.35 instead.
I am sorry that Poland did not buy them out and did not allow a sanctuary for the Czech soldiers.
The Czechoslovakia should have agreed with Poland to the pre--emptive attack in either 1934 or 1935 against the nazi Germany.
Poles did break the 3--wheel Enigma and did create bomba, predecessor of the Bomb, and had the best, but far from complete, intelligence on the nazi Germans in the world before 1940.
@3DSFuture sounds like opinion of gay who doesn't care about truth. Otherwise you would know that Czechoslovaks were standing on borders ready do figth in 30th September 1938 and sacrificed their borders accepting unisono calling of western democraties as well as nazis to give the borders for sake of peace. Our great grandfathers were may be stupid, listening this promises but they were not the only ones and definitely they hav not been as stupid as the promissing democraties as GB F an US
@PetarCZ Poland also was betrayed, and they still fight. And its dosen't change the fact that the czechoslovakia builded thousands tanks for nazi germany :)
@3DSFuture Let's take it from the end - no doubt that Czechs built hundereads and thousands tanks for Germany, as whole ocupied Europe did. Yes your pint of view is repeting qiute comonly shared cliche. Regarding the topic a litle bit more closely there is few significant diferences between situationCzechoslovakia38 and Poland39. CZ had bad luck beeing the last piece in appeasment policy, after Hitler's occupation of remains CSR even Chamberlain gave guaratnies to Poland (however nonfullfilled
@3DSFuture ...whole Europe and US insisted on Beneš to sacrifice border areas as last Hitlers demnad, promissing that then peace will be protected. one year later no one single potician would repeat the same blackmail towards Poland, however arguments were simmilar - Gdansk corridor with German seatlement etc.
Of course we should fight but it is a bit comic to hear it from side which betrayed us from doing so. HOWG
You're right. It was Neville Chamberlain who was gullable and thought Hitler could be appeased. Had Britain and France simply said "stop, or we will attack!", the great Czech border fortifications and industrialized army of Czechoslovakia could have held the 1938 German army at bay for far for longer than Poland did in 1939. Once France invades in the West, Germany finds itself in a nasty situation, and the war might have ended with an allied victory far sooner
In hindsight giving Hitler parts of Czechoslovakia (later the whole country), was foolish in the extreme. Suddenly he had a whole weapons industry at his disposal with which to invade other countries. Stopping a dictator from gaining resources was a lesson learned from this and post WW2 this is a policy the USA often uses for their "pre-emptive strikes".
Although I am no expert on this alternative history forums speculate of what could have happened had the war started in 1938.
@3DSFuture Czechs accepted the request because it threatened the bombing of Hitler's Prague, and after the occupation of the Czech Republic also took their tanks.

Kdyby nakonec válka v roce 1938.Němci by měli s tímto tankem velké problémy jej překonat.
If ultimately the war in 1938.Enemy should this tank be big problems to overcome.
