I've been to Bobby Mackey's. I love how they have a warning sign before you go in that says they aren't responsible for the paranormal activity that happens lol.

I live in Kentucky, and all these ghosts stories are kinda cool to me, lol. I'm thinking about trying to go to some of these haunted places in my life time if I ever get a chance.

I am thinking they moved her head to Bobby's place (now his place) in her very own Valise, it was such a short distance back then across the hills from FT Thomas to Wilder it would have been fast, dark and easy access!

More than likely why/how Hell's Gate got the name. I so wish my back would mend so I could make it back over to Bobby's place.

No, her head was never found. It has been rumored that they dumped it at Bobby Mackey's World (then an old slaughter house) in the basement well/hole (Hell's Gate) that dumps into the Licking River but it has never been found.

I am NO expert yet I have a lot of info on this, long before Bobby Mackey's World was there though beyond any shadows of doubts I believe Bobby's place to be very haunted.

Rumor has it that Wallings & Jackson carried her head in the Valise to 'Hell's Gate' for disposal.

The book Hell's Gate is amazing! Definately sends chills up your spine. I've actually been to Bobby Mackeys a few times and have taken tours of the basement and have seen the well and Johannas dressing room etc. Haven't had any ghostly experience there yet. But I believe it is all true. I live in Kenton County so I'm not far from the nightclub at all. I can't wait till the movie comes out this summer! Its definately going to be one of the top horror movies! This story is EPIC!!!!!

Yes, Hell's Gate is amazing, I have read it several times. I have also been to Bobby's many times. I have had a couple of supernatural encounters there also but I have seen much more supernatural things in much less likey places. Odd huh?

Yeah were not from kentucky.We are from cincinnati. I'm only 28 so i didn't get to experience the goings on down there,but my uncle used to tell me stories about kentucky and the mafia all the time.He used to tell me that the best bourbon in the united states came from kentucky. He gave me a book that was written about covington and newport in the 20's and thirties. Its got an autograph in it too.

Yep, Kentucky is famous for it's Fast Women and Beautiful Horses and Good Liquor. Or was that Beautiful Women, Fast Horses and Great Liquor, hell I dunno lol

I recall when Newport was 'wide open' though the Bars closed only from 5 AM to 6 Am for clean up and one never had to look far for a good time. I miss the good old days. My heydays were mainly in the 60's though, yet things rocked then!

Its said her body was found more in FOrt Thomas In a farmers Field , True about the Head in the river , As far as her Haunting Bobby Mackeys , I dont belive . I have been to Bobbys Now 4 times .NKYPG has pictures and Copys of the news clipings .I have also Dug up more info on her being Found in Fort Thomas .

I have that info as well, and also an original photo of her body in the field, with the finder of her body.

Bobby's may very well be haunted, that is where her head was disposed, it used to be an old slaughter house, and there was a direct 'hole' to the River there beneath it for the use of the Slaughter House "Hell's Gate".

There is a Historical Museum, and they have the Valise Pearl's head was reportedly in, this was kept at the old Newport Courthouse till not long ago, now at the Museum.

Indeed I have heard of him, I met him once many years ago, at Bobby Mackey's.

An old friend of mine (not seen in years) Sandy who worked at Bobby's told me of Doug and the Book.

She was a good friend of his and I think (memory may fail me) but she may have signed one of the Affidavit's in his Book.

The Book is chilling, and I would LOVE someday to meet your Uncle again.

I own an Original Photo of Pearls Body and Hewling, he found her!

A tad before my time BUT Newport and Wilder, well all of Campbell County used to be wide open all night long for gambling, bars, and such. I believe you, and he probably played at other notorious places as well as they were abundant back then.

The Bars only closed from 5 am to 6 am for cleaning and would reopen after that one hour. Gambling was wide open, I played the slots when I was a kid, they were everywhere and called One Armed Bandits lol.

This one is a GOOD one, that I can tell you. Pearl's head was never found, still to this day oooohhhhh and i am not kidding.

There is a lot on You Tube about her and this Murder. Search Bobby Mackey and Douglas Hensely as well as Hell's Gate.

This is nothing new, this is well known here and has always been. The TV Show brought a lot of interest in it, and I think it deserves it as there is still so many things unanswered about Pearl Bryans Murder that is indeed a Mystery.

I dont know if you all know or not, but the historical library in Campbell County has the bag that Pearl's head was carried in and it even has hair particles on it, I found that when I was researching Mackey's before we investigated there the 1st time =)

Many psychics have been there at Mackeys, I have had one strange encounter there, one day I will get around to sharing :)

There is No such thing as the Historical libary in Cambell county ... there is a Historical Socety In Alexandrea , that deals with some of Cambell County Citys .

I have the Site saved on another computer BUT Alexandria is in Campbell County, so think about what you said for a moment. They now have the Valise, I read at the site myself.

Not being a know it all, just have had interest in this for more than 20 years, perhaps longer.
