  • Anyone who likes this go listen to the band Haken. Next biggest prog group

  • This is such a good album! They concentrated on their songwriting just as much as their solos.

  • Great music, tho the pretentious lyrics gotta go. But Man, the boys can play.

  • I can't stop listening to this album lately... Plus, so much good prog in the last years (Mindflow, Wastefall, Redemption, etc...) !!!

  • been a big fan of this album for a while. i heard somewhere they're releasing a new album soon. i hope they get the success they deserve soon

  • Awesome and Unique, I would say that to me they sound quiet different from DM as composition and structure, on the other hand yes it is spontaneous, i guess, to associate them with DM because of their virtuosity.

  • such a good song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the way premonition sets this tune up on the cd.

  • Mm, this band is indeed refreshing. A little Dream Theater-esque, but still unique, and very intelligent. The breaks are very interesting, and the key/synth driven elements are very appealing to me. Good stuff 8)

  • @ConsecratedOblivion Of course they're Dream Theater-esque! Have you looked at the name of the band? Dream Theater... Thought Chamber... Pretty obvious influences right there. But, sounding like Dream Theater is entirely the opposite of being a bad thing :D

  • @undiscokidd42 Oh, in no way was I trying to imply that sounding like Dream Theater is a bad thing. I'm a huge Dream Theater fan myself ^^ It's just that a lot of prog. metal bands tend to clone DT in a way. Not that it's a bad thing, DT is an amazing band. And so is Thought Chamber.

I kinda got a chuckle at how similar the band name was. Not that I think it's a rip-off, it's just kinda cool :D

    Both are amazing bands <3

  • @ConsecratedOblivion I wonder were DT the originators or just got well known early?

I wish every new band that came out would have a sound so original it would defy comparison [impossible of course.. and I wouldn't even *necessarily* want that] sure would throw the marketeers and radio formaters into an anti-orgastic tizzy though, which would be fun.

Parts remind of Kansas, motif at 4:02 . Kansas w/ a prog-metal update. Nope, wouldn't be surprised if they'd listened to some Kansas. - I like.

  • Oh yeah... listening again... the part at 4:02 ,it's the top line from Journey from Mariabronn it reminds me of in particular. Early Kansas song that includes "Dreams of fortune fill the young one's mind /...Destiny fulfilled, their words will burn an eternal flame"

  • @marmas58ink Actually, Mike Portnoy of DT has said on numerous occasions that he thinks it's funny people consider them the originators of prog. metal when "Fates Warning were doing it years before we were." So prog. metal was technically existent before DT, but they were one of the pioneers.

  • @ConsecratedOblivion Thanks for the info. I had no idea myself.

    - I have 4 FW albums. Like their earlier stuff more than the 'pleasant shade of gray' style that, from what I've heard, can describe way too much of their more recent output.

  • Love this band so much. It's always a breath of fresh air when I hear an American band I can truly appreciate along with my favorites.

  • The singer sounds like Steve Perry in some instances.

  • This cd is undeniably a piece of art. Hope the band has some cool shirts so I can wear one with pride! Amazing prog band!

  • Indeed

  • Cool song

  • awesome
