Personally I believe if copyrights have been infringed then the music portion of the video should be taken away, the audio can and should be halted. The video portion is still the work and creation of the content producer and it shouldn't be removed because an audio swap could always be done in place of the music. That's my beef. So yes, I will be sure to contact the Eff if the video isn't returned to me asap.

I asked some of them if they had permission from the copyright owners and they told me they didn't. That's a little frustrating. my vids were taken down despite it being my own creation. Most of the bands and artists actually do NOT agree with the record companies. I agree completely that if you're making a profit on the video, have the record companies sue all they want. But if it's just a fun video, no profit intended or accepted, they should just allow it. It's free advertisement after all, if anything they should be paying us. And it's easier to use a lot of other programs than go through the trouble of YouTube downloader to download songs.

the reason ( i think ) youtube is removing videos... is because of third party software, like youtube downloader etc. notice they only take down videos that use full song's now, to prevent thieves from using youtube downloader, catching music video's,then converting the file to mp3 format, thereby getting free songs.or, using youtube downloader to steal full episodes of shows that can be bought.if we eleminate these third party software... we could take back youtube. :]

I video cars at car shows...part of the deal at car shows is that often a disc jockey provides recorded music! Often that is in the background of my videos..I do not really want it there, but really have no choice, and I sometimes talk to car owners, so I don't want to eliminate the dialogue. YT sent 3 notices lately, I don't have to take the videos down but they identified them as possible music infringements...very discouraged, feel like packing the whole thing in. Thanks!
