@Theboss212122 I know what grunge is. But I think grunge is too general a term....Pearl Jam is completely different from Nirvana. Nirvana is more of a punk / metal combo. And anything Nirvana did before Bleach can only be classified as metal. Pearl Jam wasn't really metal or punk IMO. So the only thing that defines grunge is that it comes from Seattle, regardless of what the actual genre is. So Nirvana is whatever you want to call it.

afaik..he listened to a lot of metal back then and just tried to do his own version of metal. Which came out to be grunge. But they also called themselves "punkrock band" later in interviews.. so I guess they just didn't give a shit about genres... that's the way it should be anyways.

in order to correct you, i must state nirvana had 4 official drummers , and 2 sit ins. 4 offcial: Aaron Bruckhard, Dave Foster, Chad Channing, and finally Dave Grohl. 2 fill ins Dale Crover, and then one show Dan Peters, and Nirvana recorded music way before Dave Grohl joined the band.
