Hello, mynameiskid! Actually, Dave plays some songs with the violin under his chin, and some holding it against his chest.. it depends upon the dynamics of the song. He's self-taught and plays by ear, like the rest of us.. folks like us, have our own way of doing things, but that makes it more interesting! we appreciate your comments, Kid, and are glad you enjoy the music..
Very nice, I remember you from the old open mic nights at club fred, you should drop by the bluegrass open jam in clovis sometime, it happens every 1st and 3rd sat from 6p.m. to 10p.m at the senior center in clovis. we always need fiddle players (or whatever other instrument you want to bring) Next one is Aug 1, Hope you can make it.
I will be sure and call Dave's attention to your comment.. I'm sure you will be likely to see him there at the senior center in Clovis.. he's going to be surprised to hear from someone here in Fresno, from the old club fred days.. meanwhile, we're so glad you enjoyed the music and we hope to see you back again, on some of our other video sites as well..

I wonder what made him decide to learn violin with it in his chest instead of under his chin. Sounds good though

Actually, he's playing "old timey" self taught style. Lots of old timey fiddle players do it this way. It would drive me
crazy, but he sounds ok! More power to him
