I actually have really fond memories of those chiptune songs on cracked Amiga games. I even had a casstte that was full of ones I recorded from my Amiga 1200. Don't know what that says about me. :S
@fatezero Certainly have - we have that here. However, I find that it's more apt to compare this game to the game that started off this genre of gaming.
Kiko, I love you. You are currently the only one of my subscriptions that is actually uploading anything worth watching and therefore relieving me slightly of my boredome.
@Wilks228 Good sir I encourage you to get to yon drinking, and then try your hand at baseball. the resulting either awsome drunken win, or hilarious slap stick comics shall be worth while.
This brings me back. I seem to remember this game getting a port to one of those retro collections, which made me realize how quickly we become old these days.
Amiga 500? Amiga five hundred, you say!? Luxury. I played this game on the CPC464; loaded it from magnetic tape and had to watch a three minute loading screen between each foe.
And you try telling that to the young folk today...
Oh gosh I loved this game, probably one of my favourite games as a kid, and started my life-long obsession with Air Hockey.
Still looks just as satisfying and fun as I remember. I did always end up cheating for some of the enemies though, making my paddle wider, but I never knew there were actually tricks to beating them (eg, Lexon's drinking)
Thanks for this blast from the past, good old days.
Wait, so your opponents so far have been two people who had no idea how to play, someone who didn't want to be there, and a drunk. And you beat them all horribly. What does that do for their fragile egos?
1989? Jesus! My first computergame was - Holiday Island, directly followed by Age of Empires, this was in 1997... But I have to say: It seems not as if I missed a lot! ;)
I miss the Amiga 500 ( I think we had a the plus version as well) My favorite game was Ports of Call which came with the computer. A friend and I would play that game for hours on end. And then we would curse as a ship would sink due to bad weather or something.
Great memories, this is an awesome game. I remembered the opponents as soon as I saw them. Thank you Kiko, and I hope you'll play lots more Amiga games.
Actually, it has the pong style rear wall instead of air hockey. You can score anywhere in this game, even in the corners. In Air Hockey, you can only score in an area in the center 1/3 of the rear wall
Reminds me of an old game on my Mac called Smash Puck, down to the shatttering glass. I think it was shareware. Didn't have any characters, though. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a direct ripoff.
Reminds me more of air hockey than pong. Before me and my wife were married we would always challenge one another at the local bar to a game of air hockey. We had some legendary battles.
It's footage like this that makes me wish I had an Amiga as a kid, not the crappy Amstrad IBM knockoff (that ran GEM, I have seen few other computers that did) that we did have.
Could call it Shufflepong?

In a way this game reminds me of Grand Monster Slam. One-on-one sport played against a bunch of colorful opponents from a similar perspective.
