Donovan's quality, but not in the same league as the likes of Ronaldo or Zidane (who is?). He was class in the confed cup, especially against Brazil. I'm English, and I'd like to see him in the Premier League if only to get a more rounded opinion of his game (I've only seen him in MLS, internationals and Germany). The Prem is the fastest, hardest league in the world and I think on a good team, say Everton (who are rumoured to be after him), he can be something of a success.

Our A team just came out of the confederation cup. They were allowed to go back to their clubs for pre-season training rather than playing in the Gold Cup. The Gold Cup was used to try out players we wouldn't give a chance to during the confed cup or WC Qualifiers. Pretty much we were trying to find a diamond in the rough.

Donovan's quality, but not in the same league as the likes of Ronaldo or Zidane (who is?). He was class in the confed cup, especially against Brazil. I'm English, and I'd like to see him in the Premier League if only to get a more rounded opinion of his game (I've only seen him in MLS, internationals and Germany). The Prem is the fastest, hardest league in the world and I think on a good team, say Everton (who are rumoured to be after him), he can be something of a success.

I think you are not given USA the credit they deserve. Those players were good, they were undefeated, they just had a bad game. I would not call them U12 because they weren't and they could have very well defeat Mexico, or at least make it hard for them. Our A team just came out of the confederation cup. They were allowed to go back to their clubs for pre-season training rather than playing in the Gold Cup. The Gold Cup was used to try out players we wouldn't give a chance to during the confed cup or WC Qualifiers. Pretty much we were trying to find a diamond in the rough.
It was just pre-season training for us and you guys pretend like you did something crazy. Let's see what happens in Azteca. Maybe Donovan will piss on the field again.

He has played real well in US national team games against other countries in World Cups in the past and as recently as games vs. Spain and Brazil. I think it is pretty hard to argue that he "sucks ass" when he captains the runner up squad of the Confederations Cup

I have a cousin fromn the usa who follows english and MLS religiously. I've asked him what he thinks of donovon and he reckon's he overrated. yeah donovon gets alot of praise in the US but in but compared to some of europes best football players he's nothing. And he's not one of the best players in the world.

this vid is shit donovan is the best player from the US and is not overrated sure hes not as good as a ton of other players but he can still be good enough to play at an international level and european level i hope he permeneatly moves to european football hopefully in the EPL cause he would contribute a lot to that

I'm from Ireland and I must say Landon Donovan has been EXCEPTIONAL in the confederations cup. whoever made this video is bitter. USA are the 14th best rated team in the world and he's one of their handful of absolute stars. he outplayed the spanish elite and its matches like that when stars step up and get noticed by the world and that's exactly what he did. USA to win the final lads, you've got a great team and throwing toilet paper at your biggest star is a disgrace. he's contributed so much

i'm glad this video was made back in '07 cuz this dude wouldnt be talkin shit after what Don did over in germany this year. after all, if he is considered one of the worlds best which he is he must be freakin great because to be considered good at soccer you have to be great Anyone can catch a ball anyone can make a basket but very few can run and to run dribble kick a ball with accuracy plus do it at top speed and not loose control if just to hard and this guy masters that so shut the hell up
