@Coldmystery Debbie was always more focused of pleasing herself artistically, Madonna always tried to find the commercial way in her works. It is clear in the stages preparation. Blondie never had dancers, scenography, etc, just some light and maybe a backdrop.

This was a BBC simulcast, on the TV and on Radio 1 in stereo. I had the audio recording for years then some lowlife stole it (along with the rest of my audio tapes).

Great to hear it again, Picture This is probably my favourite Blondie song.

Some of the songs from this concert have been released on various Blondie compilations but .......

First time I've come across the any film of the concert. I was there, my first ever gig and only 12 years old. New Year's Eve and there's Debs in skintight leggings only a few yards from me! Gobsmacked, in lust , drooling, etc.. Happy New Year!! Haven't been the same since!

It's amazing that they were so HUGE in the UK in 1979 and yet they refused to play at stadiums and stuck to the mid size venues because they felt the the quality of the music was better in smaller venues. How many bands at the top of their game have this kind of integrity and ethics that beat out the greed for more money from bigger venues?

great performance from the entire band although Debbie wasn't so constant in her singing that night (don't take me wrong She's the best but you know singers can't be always at their best...a cold, a sore throat). I keep on thinking their best live performances on video are the ones from Musik Laden in 1978 (both of sessions). Anyway that's spectacular and Picture This is certainly one of the hardest songs to sing in the pop-history. Kudos on them!
