so the recipe is 21L water 6kg sugar then classic yeast turbo carbon and the other turbo carbon clear with all the time delays i'm to lazy to type in?
@ratman407 yes that is the recipe. the fermentation time will vary depending on the type of yeast you use. We have a number of different yeasts that ferment out at different speeds. Once the wash has fermented out, the distillation process takes between 3-4 hours.
I don't use the turbo carbon .. I've done the process both ways and I don't think it makes a difference. Another way I think they can make more money. Don't stress about it :)
I have been distilling spirits for about 2 decades and this is the first time I have ever seen anyone use liquid carbon; let alone use any carbon during the fermentation of the mash. I personally utilize a filter snake attached to my parrot so the distilate is what gets filtered at the very end of the run and it works great! But I like this set up and will be obtaining one shortly to try it out useing solar power to operate the still!
When you use express yeast, will it be blacker than the demo? Also, its recommended to take 22 to 24hours. Can you leave it longer, say 48 hours and what would happen if you did?
At 3:14, the airlock is not bubbling because of fermentation; probably just that the liquid is still churning around. Dried yeast takes a while (hours, not seconds) to rehydrate and begin work. So don't be disheartened - as I was - when your wash doesn't start bubbling instantly like the video suggests!
just out of curiosity. with the small air still does it matter if i don't put in the ceramic beads ?? i did put in the distillers conditioner.

any clue on how much turbo yeast you should use for a 4 litre jug?
thanks in advance

@MaTchBoOkPoEt you would have to use the air still ingredient/fermentation kit which has the yeast, turbo carbon and turbo clear in smaller amounts.

what is the actual temperture when the yeast goes in
jefarrell53 5 months ago
@jefarrell53 Just make sure the temperature isnt more than 40. Have done that before and killed the yeast. From 30 to 34 should be fine!
katieburgess86 4 months ago
@jefarrell53 30 degrees, don't let it go over 24 degrees, if it goes under during fermenting it will take longer ;)

09drillbit 11 months ago
